Arrow POLL: Procharger or Vortech or Maggie

With Both putting out some of the best HP Gains in their class, which would you choose, considering reputation, power and price. Yes I give the advantage straight away to the Procharger if for nothing else than the CARB #

You forgot Techco!

I'm waiting to see a finished Techco and a finished Vortech system before I make any decisions. Both look like excellent setups!

I'd vote for Magnacharger if it was a choice....

But since it's not, +1 for Procharger and their ease of install + value + reputation.

I have a procharger on my 06 GTO and it am so happy with it. The thing i like the most is that 1 you dont have to tap the oil pan. (i beleive the kit that you dont have to tap into the oil pan is too big of a blower for stock internals) Procharger is self-contained. And also the prochargers plumbing is all behind the bumper. Vortech is all up top and you can see it. IMO it doesnt look as good. With just a procharger and a cam on my gto i went from 363 RWHP to 599 rwhp. I love the way that the procharger pulls. Like a damn train. Good luck with your decisions. Just my 2 cents.

Well since Hennessy does not make a supercharger...I will vote for MagnaCharger because I am assumming that is what you meant anyway. I think a muscle car like this new camaro deserves a top mounted supercharger like the MagnaCharger....They are awesome, and they look great under the hood of the camaro.

Hmmm no clear winner yet, Guess we will have to wait till some people get them installed... Is the procharger the only set-up currently with a CARB#? Even though it doesn't look as cool as a top mount SC, the CARB# and the 45% HP Gains!?!? make it a clear choice for CAlifornia no?

Another for Magnuson. Also - they're working on a CARB number if I understand correctly. Personally - Vortech and Procharger are at about a tie, but I know both make great power. I've been exposed to Procharger a little more, however, I'd still like to see some numbers from both. I'll be a little suprised if they make more power than Maggy's latest (TVS 2300), however, I know those centrifugals make power.

Go NA with big displacement. An LS7 or better.

I would vote for procharger. I have never messed with prochargers but the reason prochargers kits would appear to be the best is they won't generate as much heat. Also they use a air-to-air inter cooler which is more efficient then a water to air.

this is just my opinion, so why are you guys saying go with maggie chargers??? I would think they would still be good, but the intake air would be hotter, thus not making as much power.

I'm leaning with the Maggie because it's a relatively known kit as of right now. Several tests have shown ~500 RWHP on 6 psi of boost and completely safe for the car. I'd like to see what the TS companies are coming up with as well as the centri' guys. They're air-to-water but we know the LS9 intercooling drops temperatures to ~140*, and it's my understanding that set-up isn't nearly as efficient as a Maggie set-up.

I'm always open to new, unbiased, information though
