On this survey these three are do-able for me, these are less than 9 hours from the house closest to furthest:
Bowling Green KY
Charlotte NC
St Louis IL

So, we the mods, all had conversations with vendors and attendees at Fest V...

here are some of the tracks that came up for Fest VI... The truth is we have not made a decision... No kidding...

Short list, in no particular order, and by no means is this the final list. It is just the tracks that were most commonly mentioned when asked.

Firebird (or whatever they call it now) Phoenix, AZ
Bowling Green, KY - assuming the drag strip is ready.
Englishtown, NJ
ZMax, Charlotte, NC
Auto Club speedway Fontana, CA
SGMP Valdosta, GA

Also, something else to keep in mind. If we get a track with a road course.... That will have to be extra as we'll have to partner with a the local HPDE group like Chin or Hooked on Driving and they will determine the price... FWIW

Discuss...
I'll be honest, every one of those options sounds perfectly acceptable for me. I wouldn't mind going back to Phoenix, but I also would not mind hitting any one of those other locations. My only issue will be how much time I can get off from work to make the trek there and back (and I certainly don't want to be the only car from SATX in the caravan )

FYI - The drag strip at Bandimere is only 1,000 feet long instead of the normal 1,320 feet. (according to Wikipedia)

Not sure if that's an issue, but just thought I would point that out.

This looks fun

You think there's enough paved area to hold the autocross as well as parking and a vendor's alley (I'm just looking at the Google Maps aerial)?

And do you think they'd let us use the road course inside that oval?

Track length at Bandimere is due to the mile high elevation IIRC...but I actually don't see anything about the shorter length on Bandimere's website so IDK... I would love to go to CO for the fest! Miller Coor's Factory Tours!!!

I would find it very curious if it was 1000ft being NHRA sanctioned. But then again maybe that is not a concern for the NHRA.

I read about the Holley National Hot Rod Reunion being at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green. Maybe that track would compliment the new facility at the National Corvette Park.

The Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars run the 1000' now. It was after Scott Kalita died in a funny car.

Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green is a great facility. The LSFest is there every year in September. They have five different classes of drag racing, Autocross, and a speed-stop challenge. It is a qualifier event for the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational. The facility would be perfect for the C5 Fest.
