Very true!

This years BJ auction had the biggest numbers consistently I've ever seen. $995,000. for a '69 ZL1. I don't believe it was even a JL8 brake car, nor was it an RS. I've always thought the '69 ZL1 should sell for big numbers, but this is a huge jump from previous years.

Hey #3
How do you think the C8 Z06 will be priced?

Thanks!

Good question.

Considering the based car plus Z51, MR shocks and a wheel upgrade is $68,300 I would expect another suspension level, brake improvements and of course whatever engine they decide on. If it's a 6.2 L SC engine then I predict mid 80k ish. But if it's a very fancy twin turbo with performance more in line with the ZR1, then upper 90s.

Very interested to see where that car ends up performance wise.

Long video, but quite the transformation.

I can't believe anyone would let their car get in this condition. Watch early and then go to the end.

Reminds me of my ex's Camaro... I couldn't stand how nasty her car was!

I'm glad they showed the people responsible for causing such a nasty mess. Imagine what the house must look like

Gotta hand it to Ford. They build what people want and are willing to pay for. The ZL1 should have gotten the LT5 from day 1 but that’s not how GM works. When your competition is making 100+ more horsepower than you, corporate politics can’t get in the way of staying relevant.

And yet despite all the extra power, its still a drivers race in the 1/4 between the two. Plus, given all the time Ford had to come out with the GT500, and all the extra stuff they did for the carbon track pack (and charge you for) ... you'd think they could have figured out how to make it outhandle the ZL1. But on the other hand ... 760 hp!

Thanks! The rumors are saying it will have a 600+HP Flat Plane-Crank NA motor like the C8R.

I wonder how much those CF wheels affect a run on a track? Is there any information on a magazine testing a standard GT500 vs a Carbon optioned GT500 on a track?

And when GM cancels the Camaro again, we can all look back and say at least it handled well.

If you haven’t noticed, the Challenger has surpassed the Camaro in annual sales, without a convertible. Maybe those ridiculously powerful engines actually attract people. Too bad Camaro will never get that opportunity.

And the last time I checked, GM sells few Camaros to rental fleets; Ford sells more Mustangs to them; and FCA does it by the boat load. And that breakdown has nothing to do with power (or handling).
