ZL1 problems?

Hi! I am moving to Europe soon, which means that there is almost no service for this car (not official anyway). I want to upgrade to a ZL1 and I want to know what to expect. More interested in mechanical problems, engine, transmission etc. Things that I cannot just order overseas and install myself or at a random shop.

Thank you!

Not a great idea. What happens if you should experience a rare tranny problem it does happen

Probably the best choice you could make.

6th Gen ZL1 is very reliable with no known major issues that you would need dealer assistance with.

Nonsense when I first got mine home there was some kind of oil leak the dealer had to take care of, then there was the wire harness sleeve thing. Then I had that delay in shifting under hard driving but hey go ahead

...and I've had both a 17 auto and a 19 manual with zero issues like most others on here.

In fact I've never been to the dealer for any issues on my Zs

Also, I wasn't even addressing your comment that didn't even ask if he wanted an auto or manual. You gave no credence to his quesiton.

Yes but you will admit to the oil pump faliures. The harness recall and some tranny issues. Not having access to a dealer and being stuck with your car in another county is way to much of a risk. Sorry

Glad you found the search function, but you still missing the point of his post. He's already got a 2018 and thinking of upgrading before he goes. The ZL1 would be a solid upgrade and the LT4 numbers show it. Have a nice day.

I agree 100%. 2018 /2019 MY extremely reliable, with all major known issues fixed. If it's a M6 it would be a very unique vehicle for Europe and a rediculous amount of fun on the motor ways.

I'm jealous!

I had a 2018 ZL1 1LE M6 with close to 30k miles and now on a 2019 ZL1 1LE A10 with over 13K miles. No issues to report in my case. Pretty reliable.

No issues. Just enjoy it and don’t worry. Life’s too short.

I wouldn't worry about the hypotheticals. The ZL1 has been proven a very solid car.

I've had no major drive train mechanical issues with HPDE use but have had to fix the cooling seat, the fin antenna/infotainment reset(nav didn't work right), front sway bar end link bolts(twice), wiring harness TSB etc. I'm glad I had a dealer for those but it still wouldn't stop me from taking and enjoying it.
