NOLA Auto Show(down) Camaro/Challenger
I came across another one of those "interesting" posts and I stole it (with permission ). I like the "wow" factor posts when average people compare cars; maybe it's just me. It doesn't hurt that the chick in the last picture texting on her cell phone is HOT either...
In any case, thought I'd share... (from SunsetHawkSelena at the NOLA show)... Camaro is Crowd Pleaser at NOLA so today is the first day of the NOLA auto show, we headed down to try and snag some pics early before the crowds got heavy... but when we got there the Camaro already had a crowd around it. now, a heavy crowd for us is usually maybe 250 people on the entire show floor at one time. the New Orleans auto show is not nearly as busy as other auto shows... hell, the first day is usually DEAD! so i'm thinking, "hey, we may actually be able to snag a few pics with no one at all around the car" ... WRONG!! i think everyone who walked in the door stopped as soon as they saw the Camaro. there was a line to sit in it at 6pm when we got there and most people hadn't even come in after work yet!! so when we get there, we hang out around the Camaro, i get some good pics, Scott chats with the GM employees about the Camaro we ordered, then we decide to go see the rest on the GM display. GM had the ENTIRE middle section of the show. their display was by far 3 times larger than any other manufacturer there (and Ford wasn't even there at all). i took a ton of photos of the Camaro and a few other select models... ZR1 , CTS-V , the new Lacrosse... etc. and we make our way down by the teeny tiny Dodge display. jeebus! they had about a 10X100 section--maybe--and they had cars crammed all in there. lo and behold, the Challenger is hiding in the middle of that (guess it was scared of the Camaro so it hid behind the minivans ) and there's only like 4 people around it... and one of 'em was a Dodge employee. i started laughing and had to snap some pics. then we head towards the back of the show where's there's a local Vette club with their cars on display. did you know there were more people crowded around the Vette club's display than the Challenger? too funny! so there you have folks... even in a tiny market like N'awlins the Camaro is the one that people flock to! we stood around the Camaro for a good 2 hours just watching people's reactions and listening to what they had to say. by far the most common questions were: what does it cost? followed by surprise at the price... and what kinda power does it have? which also was followed by a shocked silence or "holy crap!" when they heard about the HP ratings.

Hemi dave, what 0-60 times are you getting with your RT, Edmunds always has slower times and they tested the RT for 5.9, im sure it quicker then that.

"HOT"... meh. Attractive but I wouldn't go far as to say "HOT". I guess you're just not used to seeing people not wearing 18 thousand layers of clothing.

The best I got was a 4.7 TJ91
Edmunds always get slow times. I am sure the Camero SS is at least 4.7 real world. |

What did people have to say about the interior of the Camaro since the auto rags/sites are kindof split between quality w/ hard plastic and cheap w/ hard plastic.

I thought it was quality with hard plastic but all the stuff you touch is soft.
