Installed Oracle Bluetooth colorshift DRL's B-e-a-utiful

Well less then 100 miles on my car and already broke in the modding, loved oracles on my previous car and wanted it to be one of the first on the new car. Took about 6 hours to remove the cover, cut open the headlights and installed the replacement DRLs, then let them both dry for about 36 hours before reinstall, hard work but worth every dollar for this mod.

Next up ZL1 1LE bumper, red tow hook, blacked out side markers and tail lamps, followed by electric cutouts.

Cannot wait to make this car unique in my area!

That looks cool, nice job putting it all together, as far as your plans go , the zl1 bumper will look great I’m sure , just not a fan of the tow hook, but to each their own right ?

I wanted to order some Oracle lights but I got their side markers and have had them go out a few times on me. I would have to have to open a headlight back up like I've been taking my side markers out. Was waiting for diode dynamics to make some but they had a preview and then nothing.

I really do love those lights, but theres something about opening the headlight just to put them in that I really dislike. I am a big DIY guy but that makes me so uncomfortable. It looks awesome tho! They don't have these for 2019 RS models yet anyway.

They DO have the LED strips that stick to the outside of the headlights. Not sure how I feel about those, especially for over $200. Feel like I could make my own kit like that for a fraction of the price if im just sticking it to the headlights.

I have had good luck with Oracle, my last car I had them in for 4 years with no issues. As far as opening the headlights I understand some worry, I've worked in the auto industry for some time, so it's not as hard for me.

They just add so much look to the front of the car. Especially on a dark vehicle.

Well I am getting a blacked out 3LT and I have been looking into options for mine. Right now it looks like my only option are those exterior stick on LEDs, but I will probably wait a while for those. I have a few mods planned, but spending over $200 on 2 light strips ($270 with the BC1 controller) seems like a poor choice personally.

Edit* Not even sure if these work with the RS model, and how the stock lights look behind them.

Yea I'm not sure on the RS model. But ya it would look great on a black car, just save up for it whenever your ready.

Why/how do you cut the lights open? I've done headlight stuff before and always bake them and separate them when the glue is warm. Is this not possible on the Camaro headlights for some reason?

On Oracles website it has a how-to video for the camaro headlights and they said you can bake them to warm the glue if you want, but isnt mandatory.

I've done both the 2010 version and the new version, the 2010 heating worked great, and separated the headlight pretty smooth. The new version the glue track that goes around the headlight is alittle deeper, and seems to not want to warm up well, i even used my heat gun and tried that, and it was still a pain, so i decided to just dremel it open, and it worked great, the second headlight took me like 1/4 of the time instead of messing with the heat.

they make a stick on that overlays the lights now so you dont have to open them.

Either way, I struggle to find the point in these kinds of mods. They're highly illegal to use on the road where you'd actually want to use them so other people can see them. Seems like giving cops an easy excuse to harass you.

Just run the colors that are legal.. Yellow, orange, light blue. Still makes it pop, and people comment about them. Use the other colors and multicolor for car shows etc..

I originally had oracles installed. Hated them. They utilize an RGB system, not a RGBW system, so their white is just a mix of all colors as opposed to a pure white like factory.

Take a pic of the headlight DRL lights switched to white, along with the horizontal DRL's on, and you'll see what i mean.
