eLeSthree,

That combo is looking great. It will make some power no doubt.

Vortech did develop the V-15 and the V17 but I don't know if came to fruition. Both fit in the YSI bracketry.

There have been a couple of posts about the V15....but that was a long time ago, and they still don't seem to be out there. Vortech really are lagging behind, although even the old YSi is still a fantastic unit.

The did do the XB110 some years ago too, but it disappeared very fast. No idea why they seem to struggle when Procharger has so many good units out there.

I asked for years for an upgrade for the YSi, even just an impeller to no avail, got fed up in the end and switched to turbos. About 2 years later then came up with the YSi-B, but even that hasnt really shone much over the regular YSi

ESS for a much smaller company seem to be stepping up though and making good stuff.

ESS doe have some nice engineering - they orig came from high end euro car kits. I am surprised that Vortech, or even Procharger, is not using the 11-blade tech from the turbo world. I am sure that would breath some new life into their units.

I doubt 11 blades would be of any advantage. The higher blade counts seem to be more for higher rpm impellers and due to physical limitations, blowers just do not operate at the same rpms turbos will see.
Over 100k would be common for turbos even 70k is very high for a blower.

Maybe it's still why the ysi performs so well despit an old cast unit.

I had even considered the V4XX, but it's massive.

Those things are rediculous. 2500hp? i see no reason why the 1400hp from a ysib wouldnt be enough for a street/strip car. Its a very capable blower.

USPS is delivering my ptfe hose tomorrow. Hope to have it running sunday.

Got the G3X on currently with the big 110mm pulley for break in. Dont expect numbers for at least 500 miles

Getting 1400 from a YSi anything is a little hopeful.

Generally it seems 11-1200 is the absolute max they do in an all out engine..

Making that same power with a milder build is easier with a bigger blower. Same way if you want to make big power at lower boost with turbos...you just pick bigger turbos, although there are downsides to doing so.
With a blower, even a big blower will still make boost at lower rpm's, although physically it will be harder to fit, and it will place more loads on the blower drive system

I think it was over a year ago ECS and A&A were posting about the V15....and still it's a bit of a unicorn

Guy with the name rgehring_yrntrdy on Instagram has a V15 on his vette. I think ecs is also testing a vette with one.

Changed the tune file to reflect the new displacement, and the new TB scalar. It fired right up. Bumped fuel pressure to 60psi just to make sure it wasnt lean for first test drive. No leaks, no problems. 60psi of oil pressure as well. About 45 warmed up. Now for 500 break in miles

Roads dried up some. Been putting some break in miles on the new motor. Can't go beyond 5500 right now, but damn this thing is efficient. I'm seeing 3psi less boost at the same RPM than the last setup.

Between work, buying a second house, burying my dog, and my lack of patience/confidence with tuning, I decided to hire Ted to tune it. I was very pleased with his last remote tune.

I'm running the same 95mm pulley on the G3X, but I dont think it will make 20psi on this motor. I'm pretty confident that this thing will make 1000+ on this pulley though, probably around 17psi. Hell it made 950 on the stock ls3. Also have the 90mm pulley.

The G4 is still 60 days out.

I took the Snakeater TB off. It threw back to back p1516 codes and tripped REP mode at only 3 psi of boost. Dont have time to mess with it during break in.

Butt dyno and my ears are very happy. This thing sounds glorious at WOT.
