Hearing flywheel/starter on startup - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Recently on startup I am hearing flywheel/starter metal scrape noise. Not harsh scrape, but hearing it for sure. Since installing my fuel pump this began and occasionally the engine turns over a few times before starting, that is when I hear the noise. This never happened before.

My pump basically negated the FP sensor. I’m waiting on some parts to reintegrate the FP sensor, I think this may be the issue with startup, but would not explain metal noise.
