Anyone have a dash cover?

As cars get older, the dashes tend to get brittle and crack. I'm thinking about getting a dash cover now to keep the dash looking new. Let the cover get aged by the sun and just swap for a new one every 8 years or so.

But I can't find a picture of one on our car, so I'm worried it'll look cheap.

Does anyone have one? Pics?

Yes. It's called window tint. The good quality one. And a windshield sunscreen for when the car is parked in the sun. Dash covers are ugly.

If you protect it correctly with a vinyl protector (i.e. Adam's SVRT) you don't need a cover or tint. If you just let it sit in the sun with no protection you're calling for a cracked dash by your own negligence.

303 Aerospace is about the only vinyl spray that has SPF protection. 303 has SPF 40. I see that Adams product has SPF 35. Either one would be good. You definitely want a product with SPF in it though as that is the only stuff that will actually provide long term protection vs. short term looks.

I got a buddy that uses 303 on his Mastercraft vinyl seats. Its a 2006 and the interior still looks brand new and that boat see's a shit ton of use.

Haole, can you post a pick?

As far as protectant, I don't trust that as a solution by itself. I have 25% tint and use a windshield cover when parked. Is there a protectant that has SPF and leaves the original level of shine/matte?

303 in my experience doesnt add any kind of shine to the dash. I have used it in many many cars.
