Barrett Jackson 2019 Z/28’s

Anyone catch these?

2015 #239 Heavily customized $49500 - https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Even...M-COUPE-227768

2015 #1110 - $77000 - https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Even...RO-Z/28-226485

I know where my Z’s headed if I need to sell it. Crazy prices.

Maaaaan, that #239 got turned into garbage IMO. #1110 was customized too, but tastefully. To each his own though. 77k is..erm..ridiculous in todays climate.

Agreed 100%.

What drives me crazy is when they sell a car on those shows and some local sellers on say Craigslist or EBay think that’s what their car is worth as well. I tried to buy a few vintage cars over the years from sellers who prices the car beyond even a fair price. Last car I tried to buy the idiot could not understand that his asking price is way above real cost. I had a guy asking a price on a car needed full restoration and his hard sale line was well this is what it is gonna be when done. I told him look buddy you are asking me to buy this car at your over price, complete a full restoration and in hope that all my time and labor and parts will hopefully brake even.. I told him hey why don’t you invest in the car so it’s complete and sell it on one of those auctions. Most people don’t get it. A car is really only worth what a buyer is willing to spend at the end of the day.

Well, I agree with you, BUT, you/I cant fault B-J for that. These cars are overpriced nit because of the auction, its because of the buyer. 90% of the time, I watch and say "nah, I wouldnt pay X for that car, i'd give X"...but that just means im not THE right person. AN example, I posted on my IG account the red 1990 1LE Iroc it was 49k. People ripped the seller to shreds. He just took it to B-J and got almost his exact asking price at auction, because he found the right buyer. At the end of the day all that really matters to me, is I hope these cars get driven..they wont, but I hope they do. Such a waste to buy collector cars to let the sit.

One of these days when I finally stumble on an exact match to my Highschool Z28..I am going to pay more than I care to admit for it. Its a lowly 95 Z28 with my specific options I had, but I'll pay top dollar to someone who will probably think I was drunk when I bought it.

I saw #1110.....kind of an odd sale at that price....still a little shocked that such a unique and low production car is selling for such a low market price.

Uneducated consumers bought those Z/28's. Sellers got lottery-esq lucky

Swings both ways with Barrett Jackson though... there's cars sold there, that even the announcers exclaim, sellers give them away! It's a joke. Buyers get ridiculous deals to be had.

Best examples of this are the full custom show cars... big build prices and they never hold their value.

That being the case with a local car: $1 million build... sold for $255,200

Eventually, I think buyers/collectors will realize what these cars are, but it may take time. I think they will hold long term value better than any other modern pony car, save maybe the Dodge Demon, which is at a MUCH higher price point.

This ^

I've stopped attempting to explain the car to even car people... "yeah - It's a Camaro, now move over".

Let Keith Martin and those folks show the way in 10, 20 or 30 years.
