NASA hit by ROCKETs - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

No, not the sports team, the 2010 Camaros: ROCKET and ROCKIT. Recently united for the first time at NASA's Johnson Space Center, Houston.

This is the coincidental tale of two 5th gen cars with almost identical plates. We didn't know each other before, live 250 miles apart, and only found out about each other through the Camaro 5 thread on what personalized plates we planed to get for our cars.

T_MECO and myself had both been toying with getting a variation of "ROCKET" for our personalized license plate way before we got our cars. After various spellings, several search attempts, and a little luck with timing, T_MECO was able to snag "ROCKET" and I got "ROCKIT", both which had previously been used but became available when the original owners let them expire.

Beyond the plate similarities, we also ironically both have CGM cars, and we both have first gen F-Bodies: T_MECO a Firebird and I a 68 Camaro.

We managed to get together this past weekend and finally meet.

How cool is that? Wow. I don't think I'll have an issue with mine or meeting up with someone with a plate like what I have...I'm plain with 426SS
