Need a stealth cam

As the title says I'm looking for a new camshaft. I would like to do a L99-to-LS3 convertion and need cam that doesn't make the car sound "cammed".

The bigger the gains the better (preferably at mid and lower RPMS). Are there cams available which produces nice numbers while sounding stealth/ stock?

Any recommendations are welcome. thanks.

LS9 cam is the only one I can think of. Decent gains for a N/A build. Next to no lope.

If you want big numbers then the car is going to sound "cammed"

the lingenfelter gt11 cam is a good stealth cam, you can get big cams that don't give you the cammed sound, the lsa will play a big part in that as well as your tune

Yes the GT-11 is definately one of my favorites so far. This cam seems to be mild in duration but at the same time it's high in lift.

I just need to make shure that the car doesn't sound cammed. So please keep the suggestions comming..

+1 on the Lingenfelters. I have a GT-9, which drives great, but is for a blower and requires .675 dual springs. The GT-11 is a good choice for N/A.

you want to find a high lift, short duration blower cam. alot of places do custom cuts, that may be your only option. if you want the low end power than you do not want to cam it. that is the whole idea to sacrifice the low end for the high.
just go with an ls7 cam.

However, since the OP is running an A6, he should be able to conter this with a small stall. Blower cams are going to be your best bet IMO, they have wide LSA's and very nice lift numbers.

Not familiar with the GT-11, but have heard great things.

LS9 cams sound almost stock, and will give a descent power increase. Really nice cam for a mild build.

FWIW, I gained 48rwhp with my GT9, before the blower. I have a torque converter but really did not need it for the cam.

Just curious as to why - I know its not for everyone but a cammed LS engine is one sweet sound to my ears.

make that a +2...

It not only turns heads at car shows, but even people who are not gear heads know what that sound is on the street... People like to test cars with basic bolt ons..but my buddy in his cam, it almost seems people are afraid to pass him out of fear lol

I get the whole "sleeper" concept I guess...

Even without the added power, my commutes are faster. When I'm at a stop sign people actually hurry across the street because my car sounds like it's gonna launch at any moment
