exhaust modes

2012 zl1 has two exhaust modes. Evidently my fob is messed up. Can you bypass something to where the exhaust will stay open?

Fuse panel in trunk, passenger side behind liner. Pull fuse #8. The flaps will stay open all the time.

So, if the flaps are open at idle, and they open when you give the gas - what's the purpose of the NPP, what's it's claim to fame, and, what's the use in pulling the fuse?

The purpose of the npp is low noise when cruising or light throttle(combat drone if you have aftermarket headers and/or high flow cats) yet still yell when you're haulin' ass(Opens after 3k rpms). Pulling the fuse is the cheap way out, you can buy a controller. So many owners love the sound when the flaps are open and that's why they change it. I DD and I leave NPP on in the mornings so its quieter. After work, I turn NPP off, turn the music down low and listen to the roar. Hope this helps you make you're decision.
