Do you lose the back up monitor in the rear view mirror?

Sure, if you're into car fashion from 2011, I suppose....

To anyone who doesn't own a Camaro (and one who does), the dash kit looks great, and modern, and I've gotten quite a few inquiries about it.

No, both kits retain that feature, as its not controlled by the radio

So are these plug and play? Personally I like the PAC better, but I didn't see where I could Bluetooth my phone through it.

That's a function of the radio you choose.

These installation kits allow you to retain HVAC control, heated seats (if equipped), OnStar (if equipped) and door lock/unlock (for certain years) and an interface between the aftermarket radios audio to the cars sound system. And in the case of the Scosche, the ability to control the cars personalization settings.

Things like Bluetooth and Satellite radio are options of the radio you choose to buy.

So you have to buy a radio too? Where does the radio go?

Sorry if I sound stupid, I thought this WAS a radio.

Yes, you still have to buy a radio.

The radio is separate than the dash kit and is mounted to the dash. The kit (PAC or Scosche or Metra) gets wired to the radio and plugs into the vehicle wiring. Then the kit snaps into place "around" the radio.

Installing my Scosche kit and HU, but my radio will not turn off when door is opened. Any clues or guidance you guys may have? I can turn the unit off manually, but yesterday after car has sat for a couple days, other than being moved from 1 spot to another, the battery drained down, so not sure if its the Scosche kit or HU that could have been the culprit. Also installed back-up camera, but the hot wire of course is tied into the reverse lights so dont think that's it.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Double check that the constant 12volt and ignition voltage wires aren't switched.

Ok will do. I was pretty sure I had hooked them up correspondingly, but anything can happen. That does tend to start being alot of wires after soldering for a few min. Thanks for feedback,

Ok so according to diagram on Scosche and HU, I should have them hooked up right. I checked voltage on the 12v constant (yellow) with car off and door open, wire does have 12v. Then I checked the 12v ACC (red) with car off and door open (I assume this should be the wire that drops out) but it still had constant 12v also. I will try to upload photo of the schematic also. Also unplugged Scosche kit completely, and same thing.

AND HAPPY 4TH TO EVERYONE.......
