Bilstein B6 change ride height?

I am needing new rear shocks on my 2013 SS and am wanting an upgrade over stock. I am interested in the Bilstein B6 but am confused an whether or not they will affect my ride height. I am not lowered and I like my ride height where it is at. I recall a thread about having to machine 0.5 “ off of the mounts to maintain ride height… confused as to if that would pertain to my situation or not.. any help or info would be greatly appreciated… thanks guys!

Shocks don't change ride height, springs do. Coilovers blur this line a bit but that's another situation.

This is the thread he is referring to. I'm not sure that I agreed with him that the extended length of the shock being different with no load would cause additional preload. In my mind this would only be true if the shock length with load was less. It would not allow as much droop in the suspension though.

The bilsteins don’t do anything to change ride height. You can also disregard that thread as I believe it’s applicable to the 1LE only.

Just asking, What will the ride height be with B6's & OEM springs if I put them on my 1LE ?

Measure your shock like the link shows and adjust as necessary. I had to machine the rear Bilstein spring mounts for my 1LE just like the link described.
