Clutch sticks when cold?

Here in CT the mornings are getting down into the low 30's, sometimes high 20's... a few times now I've noticed my clutch pedal sticking as I go to start the car. I do not start it, but instead press the pedal in and out maybe 6 - 7 times until it is smooth again, then start. After that she's fine.

Is this something I should be worried about?

Only if your car is an automatic.

I've never a V8 before, but on my 4's and 6's this has never happened, even at "below zero" temps...

The clutch is known to have a few issues with sticking. There is an aftermarket kit that adds a spring to the clutch to make sure it returns fast. If you are having issues I would suggest looking into it. I wouldn't think it could cost much...

I had the same problem recently, the dealership looked at it and told me everything was a ok. It has not happened since the visit, but who knows just monitor it I guess.

Same here, grinds into 2nd on first shift when car is at or below 30 degrees. Solution: skip the first shift and go 1-3 instead. :-)

I have that problem with 2011 V6. A couple of attempts have been made by service department to correct it. You have to pull the pedal up with your toe to get it back to the top unless you press it a couple of times. After that, it is OK the rest of the day. The V8 has a spring available at www.lingenfelter.comand a discussion of the issue for V8 clutches.

Yeah I did see that before, but not really keen on spending $90 for something that really shouldnt be happening
