What is this for and why? Just curious

Special thanks to PK Auto Designs where I sourced this setup from. Thanks Paul! Also, thanks to Day's Chevrolet in Acworth, GA for programming the TPMS sensors to the car.
Looks awesome,

Where did you get the center caps?

There have been issues with the top vent fogging ip the windshield. My guess this it to prevent that problem.

Just like Sev said, the vent in the front will sometimes piss out air and cause the windshield to fog up. From what I’ve read, they would have to pull out the whole dash to fix it. I don’t even go to the dealer for oil changes (I know they would scratch or screw something up) so I can imagine I’d have an anxiety attack if they had to pull the dash.

Spent two days at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park running the "NASA fast course. " Fastest lap was in the 1:10 range. Moved up from HPDE 1 to HPDE 2. Fastest car in the group and about 2 s faster than a 1LE in the HPDE 3 group, sorry Mike.

I took mine to the dealership since this issue is covered by warranty, and when I got the car back the problem was still occurring . I wouldn't try to get it fixed only because, in order to fix it, they also have to pull the windshield ALONG WITH the dash and that's a whole other headache to deal with .
