Changing wheels back to stock and im dreading it

So i went to my dealer this past week and I was told that my tread was so low that my inspection would not pass. I have had my tires on since about February and from looking at them you can tell they are " bald head" tires. The tires that i am looking at getting are pirelli P zeros but they will set me back 1300 dollars.
Since i am currently taking my premed school courses tuition is no joke having to pay full expense out of pocket and with winter coming I really don't think it is worth it to buy new summer tires and to have road salt to mess up my wheels. I have decided to switch back to the dreaded LS steelies which only have about 3k miles on them and have been sitting in my basement. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make the steelies look more stylish? lol I took the silver ring off when i removed the tires last February . Do the steelies look better with the silver rings off?

really going to lose points on styling by putting these wheels back on but oh well lol

my current wheels

I put my stocks on for a few months. Wasn't the end of the world. Makes it that much better when you put those back on.

1300 is too much for the OE PZeros.

Tire Rack has all 4 for $800:

Put the steelies on for the winter and if you can swing it buy one or two tires at a time. That way you don't bear the brunt of buying all of them at once.

Take a look at the Continental DWS it is a good tire with good tread wear that should get you year round traction.

Now from an old fart, school comes first and it is your future that you are looking at.Think about this, once you have made it to the other end of the tunnel you can buy what you want when you want.I know you want your car to look good but sometimes you have to make sacrifices and this one is minor.

I thought back to stock was pretty much common practice for winter, I switch out as soon as the first snow falls.

It's not too bad, I actually enjoy not being constantly worried about 7k worth of D2Forged during the winter months.

Better safe than sorry, if your tires are worn out your better off putting the stockers back on.

I don't drive in the winter, but it definitely is nerve racking with 7k of wheels underneath you. The only worse feeling is 4k of drag wheels that can bend in the slightest pothole...

Snow? Here in NC this isn't a very familiar thing
