how much oil

one more dumb question, I usually change my own oil, I got lazy and had my first oil change done at one of those places, I watched all went well untill ---- how much oil do you put in this car, I looked at the owners book it says 8qts no way 8qts ok so here we go we got 7qts in and it was full, the next day I checked it after sitting all night and it's over the top hash mark by 1/4"

what do you think

if i let mine drain for a long time while i am waxing the underside i put in 8.5 but i use the zr1 filter

i have added 8.5 qts to both my dads and mine on multiple changes each and let them sit over night on my 4 post lift after they have been run for a few seconds and checked in the morning and topped off total is 8.5 qts to the very top of the hash marks

Curious.... waxing the underside....of your car? Details? Pics?

That is something new to me. My poor car is lucky to get wax on the topside.

I had a similar experience. First change only took a little over 7 qts. Second one was 7.5. No idea why. Changed the filter both times.

6.2 liter takes 8 qts. I had my first change done at the dealer because it was free. Morons sent me out the door 2 qts low!
