The AGP CAI puts the filters closer to the mirrors than they are to the tires. If you are using the AGP CAI and get water in the filters, you need to get out of the car because it is submerged.

Plus fender liner is in the way. Even with stock non-cai, filters are 4-5" above the frame of the car. If you are sucking water in, you are having water pour through the doors and have more serious issues than a little water in the filter. At that point the car is flooded and probably going to be totaled out to insurance for water damage. You would have to be driving into 20"+ of water.

I'm still concerned about air cleaner location and dust.

Then run the cai kit. Your wheels would have to be completely submerged and up to your waist in water at that point.

Same as any car, if you're concerned about dust, change the filters more often.

If you see a river.....dont drive through it. Generally that bits common sense though

County dirt road, in my pickup, ~6" water depth, left side of road 24"30" depth....20 minutes of rain caused this.
You would drive your Camaro thru that? Wow. Power adder isn't really your problem, but some BFG M/T tires might be a good idea.
We're about to release our high mounted air filter option, but that doesn't really solve mud bogging issues.

Close, Holset Cummins turbo with high filter mount, Toyo MTs/33" w/KORE modified front racing suspension. I was the neighborhood (some neighbors are measured in miles) taxi driver that storm.

Water and mud aren't the issue, low air and fender mounted air filters that collect dust are the issue.

How is a fender mount air filter any different than a factory airfilter? They both collect dust? Your making an issue out of nothing.

Asking about things that will destroy the whole car and worrying about the turbos or air filters is just silly. Like asking why the intercooler is mounted up front because it may get damaged if you ram into a concrete wall at 150mph. You probably just shouldn't do that.
