2013 ZL1 supercharger seized??

If the isolator or even the pulley seized on the supercharger, would you not be able to spin it at all? I never had the belt off before so I don't know if the supercharger pulley has slack in it or if you can spin it freely or not. But as it sits right now it won't budge at all so I was just curious if that means its locked up?

Thanks.

You would be able to rotate it with the belt off, it would have some resistance.
Does it spin with belt on, or is it making any noise. Should be under warranty.

They aren't covering warranty as its pullied. Doesn't turn when belt is off manually trying to twist so I didn't want to break a belt putting it on

It's possible that the front bearing has seized.

Front bearing

Do you have a catch can that pulls oil from that port under the front bearing? I put a Moroso catch can on and let it idle and alot more noise came from the supercharger, was only on for 5 min at idle , then i put the stock hose back on and no more noise. It seems the catch can pulled the oil ,but made the bearings and rotors a little dry. Im thinking over a period of time with the use of these cans there will be failure of superchargers.

I actually don't have a catch can, unless that factory plastic tube piece is a catch can?

Under that theory the catch can would be full from just idling.

Not true, what i was saying is the catch can was just enough to make the rotors a little drier without the light mist from oil hence a little noisier.

Your suggesting the LSA blower uses engine crankcase oil for the snout vs the Eaton closed system oil.

So figured out the whole issue. The isolator completely broke up inside and was causing a non-spinning condition. Replaced with solid isolator and it works now.
