Question OBX Headers?

Anyone running these? They're $400 (includes shipping) and are made out of 304 stainless steel. One of OBX's distributors is on eBay.

There is a member here BAD LS1 that used them on his cammed 2010 LS3 with great results. But the only one I've seen so far.

so intersting that I ordered a cam very close to what he has. IMO this guy knows his shit. He does tune his own cars so he has to be pretty competent. He makes some good points about how the 4th gens made alot of power with this size headers and a SINGLE 3" exhaust, even forced induction. If I didnt already have my Kooks 1 7/8 headers I would of bought them and this same cam. Looks like it worked. I have done alot of research on the forums to see if anybody else has had success with these but havent found anything else

Why not mild steel?

I guess another question I have is why do all the headers today have to be stainless steel? I remember when I could pick up a set of mild steel Blackjack headers for a small block chevy for $100. I didn't care if all the paint smoked and flaked off after an hour of driving! So What?

Why hasn't anyone built a $100 - $200 set of mild steel headers for the 2010 Camaro? Mass produce it and make it cheap and "they will come". And I don't want to hear that crap about "it's a 35K car so don't go cheap". What a bunch of malarky. The guys saying that are the same guys who buy $1200 cat-back exhausts because the muffler delete option is "too cheap" to have on this car. Yeah well...you know what?..I've heard the muffler delete and it sounds a lot better than a lot of the high dollar muffler systems.

I would of bought pacesetters if they were out when I was shopping. I found Kooks for 1150 w/cats. Cheapest I could find. You can get Pacesetters w/ off road pipes all mild steel for 400-500.

This car is looks and performance. I wouldn't want to show my brand new car off with a set of headers that look like they have been on 4 cars before mine.

People also buy catbacks so they can get a distinct sound without the side effect of drone

I agree....I'm not really seeing the need for the expensive metal. I would take a set of mild steel with ceramic coating any day. I bought some ceramic coated Hooker Super Comps for about $450 11 yrs ago for my '69. I thought I was paying an arm and leg back then because I remember paying $100 for a set of Headman headers when I first got my '69. My Hooker LTs still look just as good today as they did back then and with a Cam and set of Flowmasters the sound is awesome.

Doug Thorley is the only I know that is mild steel and ceramic coated but I'm not sure I'm sold on the Tri-Y design and I also wish they would sell them with a set of cats.

IMO for under $700 you can buy Coated Pacesetters w/Cats...
They are a hellava good deal, if u want black they are even cheaper but I wouldnt do it.

If the EBAY HEADERS are 1 5/8 longtubes ( I THINK THEY ARE 1 3/4) I would stay away from them...Most NA applications 5.7/6.2 can run a 1 3/4, once u go to a larger engine, higher rpm or forced induction a 1 7/8 or 2" is the way to go..The only problem I see is a Kooks or ARH 1 7/8 is only like $50 or so higher than its smaller couterpart so its a no brainer not to step up to a 1 7/8.

The other headers I am waiting for are BBK's.
They seem to be priced right, Same for the JBA.

Once the DT 1 7/8 comes out and has cats I think that might be a real good header. The point is u have choices, ME I AM LEANING TOWARD PACESETTER because I know they work just fine.

We have gone 133MPH w/ them in a 402Ci. N20 GTO

It is a great price for over seas knock off headers. We have been dealing with this company for awhile now. All they do is take companies product and send it overseas and knock it off. So if you want to support a company that is taking money out of our country and economy then go for it. But buyers beware research before you buy. I know there are going to be certain people coming on here now and trying to justify this product. The Co name is OBX R SPORT look them up and just try to call them. We work very hard to provide the best product we can for the hard working people of the great country. So it is very dishearting when this company just send the stuff overseas and then comes here and whores it out. If you ever have a problem or need tech support call there 510 phone number and see what you get.

Cheap knock off headers. Nearly exact copies of Kooks. Basically a Fake Rolex for your Camaro. Basically they take a Kooks header, send it overseas, and have some contract manufacturer copy it and pump them out between runs of Walmart lawn furniture. The pattern is never ending and well documented. The headers would obviously cost more if they had to R&D their own product, pay American wages, and support a distribution channel besides ebay. I lol everytime I see that gasket.

Before someone goes on about "everything at Walmart is made in China"...there is a difference between an American company making something in China, and a Chinese company stealing an American companies designs, making them in some overseas factory, and then dumping them here on ebay.

Here is some reading on the customer service you can expect.
