Cloth vs. Leather
I've noticed most of our members who have opted for the SS have gone for the 2SS model. Certainly nice but also a little pricier for the budget minded enthusiast such as myself. So, to those of you who have actually gotten to look at multiple examples in person I ask you what's your take on the leather vs. cloth scenario? I did drive a V6 with cloth and have yet to see any other model with leather. I thought the cloth interior of the 6 was OK, didn't really like the color (beige) as it generated an atmosphere on the inside I didn't feel was "me". The cloth in the 8 looks different from that of the 6 when equipped so as well, or at least that's the appearance to me. Could be wrong? Thanks guys!

I liked the cloth in the V8 so we ordered a 1SS. I dont need all that extra stuff. The leather looks good too, but I have always been a fan of cloth in my fast cars.

Cloth definitely seems like it would grip better in a performance car for enthusiastic driving. I think if I had an M3 or some upper-crust luxo/sports mobile I'd definitely do some Alcantara/non-leather sports seats.

test drove a 1lt... didn't like the feel of the seats, sent to another dealer and sat in a (sold order) 2lt... hands down more comfort and much classier.. i know its a Camaro but I am replacing a Corvette... ordered a 2SS

IMO I feel more like part of the car when the cloth seats are comfortable. They dont get hot or cold with the weather. And some leather Ive sat in you get that leathery noise when you move. But to each his or her own.

I think the leather in the 2SS is fantastic. Not to mention the other upgrades (Boston Acoustics, 4 pack gauges, ABL, door panels, dash panel, etc) are well worth the money.

For a car like this, I think leather is the way to go. It will just stay cleaner and just looks sharper for my taste. Yes, the upgrades with the BA system is amazing. Better than my Pathfinder Bose system, and that is a hard system to top, imo.

V6 - It just isn't normal

Sat in both. I like the leather much better. This will be the first leather car I have ever had. The leather in this car is much nicer than any other leather car I've sat in. F-150, Volvo, can't think of any others right now. Sure beats my old 1978 Genuine vinyl bench seat Monte Carlo

I didn't mind the cloth seats in the 1LT I test drove. But I ordered one with leather and love it. It smells great and looks very classy and sharp. Seats were very comfortable as well.
And like Brian said, it'll stay cleaner. Leather is the way to go. |

I haven't see a cloth interior in a Camaro yet, but if it's as nice at the cloth used on the Pontiac G6 I could very easily buy and live with cloth.

Right...I wish I had the ABL on my dash. That would make the inside of the even more crazy

I tend to spill my drinks and stain the cloth. I'll might go with 2LT...
I know I shouldnt even drink coffee/soda in the camaro, but I know I will probably end up drinking in it eventually. Leather will be easier to clean.
