Thinking of trading in for a V
Picked up my 2012 2SS L99 in April. It had 4k in miles on it. It now has 12k on it and is being stored for winter.
The problem is that it just seems slow and now that the SS is the third fastest Camaro it just doesn't have that umph factor for me anymore. A SC would solve that but it would still be a SS with a blower on it. The car I'm looking at now is a CTS V between a 2009 and 2011 used. It doesn't have the sports car cool factor but it does have the extra 150 hp and better suspension and easier to mod to get more hp. I would love to a have a used ZL1 but they are just about $10k more then a used CTS-V. So souls I keep the Camaro and save up and put a blower on it trade it in and get a V? Imo you would be stupid to buy a used v when you can buy a new zl1 for under 50k right now

Lol... You're worried about what order your Car is in ? Why did you buy the SS in the first place than? And actually the SS is the 4th fastest but you knew that! But do what makes you happy because it's your money!

Cadillac maintenance is going to be worse than the Camaro
If you've ever seen the engine bay of the V, it is cramped, like Fbody/Vette cramped. While fuel prices has gone down, it drinks fuel, and I mean drinks it. That said, I love CTS-V's, and would totally own a newer CTS-V coupe if I could. You could always trade your L99 in for an LS3 SS and slap a blower kit on it. That would certainly answer your kick in the pants needs. |

I currently own both (cammed badass full bolt ons manual), and a 2011 cts v wagon. Let me tell you that the V is very very thirsty but is so much nicer than the ss in every single way. It is so smooth and quiete (that part is changing next weekend), but is whip lash faster in stock form and is extra comfy. I never even look at my ss anymore really lol.
The v has tons of mods to make it faster and its a wolf in sheeps clothing as well. I love love love my V and would suggest anyone to take the plunge! |

When you talk about a CTS-V vs. Camaro SS, you're getting a whole lot more than just more horse power. It's a luxury coupe/sedan and it is going to pamper you. I'm no expert on them, but I bet it'll be quiet, refined, loaded with technology and creature comforts, aluminum suspension, magnetic ride control, soft leather, wood grain and supported by a first class service department with complimentary beverages and cookies.
All I'm trying to say is a top-of-the-line Cadillac is a whole different animal! OP, have you driven a CTS-V yet? ...and have you seen this thing?

I have an SS and a cts coupe (non-V). Both are the same year and the caddy has 10K less miles. I like the camaro a lot better in the looks and performance department. My cts is a 3.6L and AWD. That is the reason I bought it. It does look awesome, but not nearly the looks of the camaro. As far as the gas mileage, it gets about 1 or 2 mpg more than the camaro. I couldn't stand filling up a V everyday!
I also think my Camaro has held up a little better than the cts. I haven't had any big issues with either, but the Camaro seems to be a little sturdier. I'd say supercharge the Camaro, unless you have cash burning a hole, then go for the V! Just make sure it's a coupe. The four doors look tame.

It seems a lot of members here bolt on a super charger and headers and make good power.

Super Charge it! Whichever supercharger you decide on, or turbo, will make it a whole different beast.

If you love your Camaro and your just hungry for more power, it would be cheaper to SC it. I did that to my car and never looked back!

Thinking of trading in for a V
I will have the Camaro paid off come February and it will be nice not to have a payment. I just think after all the money to sink into the Camaro ($8-10k) just to come close to a CTS V in stock form and all I have to do is trade in the Camaro and finance $5k it just sounds like a win for the V but the Camaro does have the looks
