If your are going to pose, why not do it right?
Let me say this about that, I saw these 2 examples in the last 2 days! I'm not picking on Mustangs, just happened to be these 2 cars at this time. If someone gets butthurt with this topic, I don't care, I'm just trying to embellish my cerebellum. You spend all the money for accessories and end up making the car look like it has extra performance, but beneath the car remains stock. It's a let down for me, when I'm expecting a V-8, and see a stock V-6 motor. My car will always look like a 1LE, nothing else! I'm not going to pose as a ZL1 or Z28 and then get spanked. If I were, my car would have some extensive mods. 1st we have a '06 automatic BOSS/ROUSH Stage .6 and then a '05 Shelbyish/Roush Stage .6 automatic with a stock V6! I'm not going to put a cucumber in my pants and walk around, just saying! Time for some and

I've seen a 5th gen Mustang here in Orlando with Boss 302 striping but instead of the standard Boss decals he had put "Not a Boss."

That's right there, I don't care who you are!

There seems to be a lot of "it's your car, do what you want with it" mentality going around now. Must be part of our newly accepting everyone society.
Personally, I think it's stupid af to try to pose your car as a faster model. Now I don't have a problem with taking cosmetics from an upper model and putting it on a lower model to make it look visually better.... but when you put badges and specific decals to make it seem like something it's not, it's just so

I never understood that with cars. If you spend the money to make it different and very unique then I get it. But to make it look like a higher performance version of the same car I don't see a point.

Honestly when I get my ZL1 or Z/28 I'm going to debadge it down to a stock V6 so the butthurt is real when a fully bolt on SS gets spanked. That's far more entertaining than badging a V6 as a V8.

If you expected a v8 after seeing the visual modifications to either of those vehicles, nothing anyone is going to say will help.
I'm not sure what anyone js going to say anyways, that is going to give you an answer. Some people build better cars than others. And typically higher end models have the visual mods that people want to emulate. Isn't being copied some sort of flattery? See ugly car, move on. Don't ask questions, do not collect 200 dollars.

If you want to do something to your car, make it your car. Performance badging is sacred in my book.

its ok to do that but when everyone starts throwing on zl1 bumpers and blackhoods on the base models that makes it OK right? Bunch of hypocrites.

Those hoods are functional upgrades, though. The ZL1 has better aerodynamic characteristics, and black hoods have been a trend for years. Adding a ZL1 badge to a lower trim would be posing.

I have the ACS TL1 hood insert on the stock hood and a ZL1 grille along with the ACS splitter.... I have a 1LT badge on the trunk and on the Grille. I also have 323HP badging on the hood. Not posing as anything, just like the look of the parts. If someone mistakes it for anything but a V6 it's their problem, not mine.
