I'm not tougher than 27 ten year olds

Last night at football practice it was parents vs the 10 year olds. First off the field is complete mud after hosting 5 games on Saturday during torrential down pour and another game on Monday. The kids are all in helmets, pads cleats etc. One dad had blood pouring down his face. I ended up going for a fumble(yes I fumbled it. Ball was muddy and slicker than snot). I got the ball but they just kept piling on. Two of the dads literally drug me by the feet and picked me up to get me out of it. I guess it was the painful blow to the ear that kept me from realizing at the time that the little bastards broke my ribs. Man has it been a long uncomfortable night. Playing the kids was an absolute blast though and they love seeing parents covered in mud. Last year the one mom got a broken tooth from a helmet. She sat out this year. Can't wait to do it again when my youngest moves up.

From past experiece with broken ribs I'd say yes. Thank God I don't have a bad cough like the rest of the family. Coughing doesn't play well with broken ribs.

I've been through similar rough times in basketball with my kids. Her's the sad part....I only have daughters, and yes those girls kicked my rear. I did finish the game with two broken fingers.
Next time I'll be ready for them

WOW, Jamie...I know the pain of broken ribs...I once had an undiagnosed cough for 6 months...
I coughed so hard 24/7 that eventually I coughed hard enough to crack my ribs, AND I still had the cough...
Very, very painful...

I hope you feel better soon, buddy...

My sons took Tae Kwon Do when they were younger and they had to take tests to break wooden boards to advance for every new belt...
Sometimes it involved breaking the board with their hand, other times with their feet...
Well, one time the Master decided it would be fun for the parents to hold the board while the kids did a "flying kick"...
My son came charging at me in a full run as I was nervously holding the board...
He missed the board and kicked me right in the stomach...OUCH...
I had the wind knocked out of me and it hurt to breathe for quite awhile and had a I had a HUGE bruise on my stomach...
BTW, I think my son was probably 10 at the time...

Do you think our kids were trying to get "revenge"...LOL...

Kids and pain go hand in hand, makes you feel alive though. Sounds like you had a great time.

So one dad has blood all over his face, you have a broken rib, and a lady last year broke her tooth. Definately sounds like fun! Where do we sign up?

North hills football. They got the national championship back in the 80s or early 90s. Trying again starting at age 7
