VS new Corvette Stingray.

Am I the only one out there that chose the 2016 2SS over the new Corvettes because of more cargo room?

I LOVE the look of both cars, in their own way. If I could own both, I sure as hell would, but when it came down to it, I needed something fun as well as practical as my every day driver. And for carrying all my guns to the range or gear to go camping, the Camaro just seemed to have the upper hand as far as spaciousness (especially with fold down and removable rear seats.)

I would've paid about the same for either (got my Camaro factory built and fully loaded) and I don't think my insurance rates would have been too far apart on either. So it really came down to space.

I also love having a sun/moon roof.

A new Corvette was never on my agenda. But I have to add....I did take my long range rifle, in it's case, to my Dealer to see if it would fit in a Camaro. The fit certainly isn't as nice as my Honda Pilot, but I can fit enough stuff in to go shoot LR.

The Pilot is certainly easier.

I own both. To be totally honest, Im not sure I could have rationalized buying the c7 if I had the SS first. This is a great car!

I can tell you from experience both stock they aren't much faster at the strip. 2 tenths and 2mph or so.

Can't comment on anything else never driven one. I'm sure they are great. But the extra price difference great I'm not so sure.

I traded my c7 for a Camaro V6. Loved the c7, but wanted a car to get in/out of easier, as it's a daily driver.

I do love how the new Gen is more like a sports car and less like a muscle car. It's a sexy blend of both muscle and sleek/sportiness at the same time, imo.

I was able to fit all my equipment in the trunk of the C7 Z06, but not the camaro. It needed the backseat to fit it all. For daily purposes, the Z06 made more sense to me. I make plenty ($250k) but in the end, I just couldn't justify spending $70-$80k for the Z06 (used) and didn't want to settle on the camaro at that point (along with the backseat as storage). So I just dumped more money into my '69 Mach1 instead. I'll just keep daily driving my Sonata for now.

I test drove a Grand Sport before deciding on a Camaro to make sure I wasn't making a mistake. Aside from the price differential, the overall feel of the cars on the street was similar, except for getting in an out. When your a senior citizen that makes a difference

Exactly what I'm going to say. The Vette has a very usable storange area because it has a wide opening. It isn't deep like the camaro, but the camaro has a really narrow and tight opening. I can't fit DR'S in the Camaro, but I've seen them stuffed in a Vette.

I looked at the Stingray before I bought my old ZL1 and again before going with the 2SS. The C7 felt too snug and the thought of rolling out of it every day made it hard to love. Cargo space or cost wasn't a primary concern.

A friend just traded his C6 with 230k miles for a new C7 Z51. Like me, winter and summer tires.

Now that temps have dropped, the density altitude is -2500 regularly. LT1 really gets intense as a winter daily.

Whats it take to even get a dealer to let you test drive a new vette. Where I live I cant even get them to let you drive a used freaking vette. It don't matter if you have cash for a good down payment and great 800+ credit they always say no.

I'm 34 and look a little younger than that, make good $ but don't really dress like it, and they let me test drive some Z06's without running my credit.

Not only did my local dealer let me test drive a Grand Sport, he let me go unaccompanied. He also let me take a 50th anniversary Camaro home to see how it fit in my garage. Pretty darn accommodating if you ask me, Classic Chevrolet.

The vette has great storage area, nice wide opening indeed compared to the camaro with small opening but alot of internal space. Having the rear seat removed i can stuff a full set of wheels in, rear dr's no problem. In NE the camaro is the practical choice, insurace as well. Though i will be looking at the grandsport and zl1 come spring. Decisions decisions... great time to be a gear head, and fan of GM
