Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum so, I am sorry if this topic has been beaten to death. I see a lot of conversation around putting 275s on the front in addition to the rear.

My question is that can I put 275s on the front and rotate my 245s to the rear? I know this sounds ridiculous, but I DD my V6 camaro and tires are expensive.

Would there be any problems with rotating them like a normal tire rotation. I don't race it or anything like that, just sit in traffic with it mainly.

No, do not rotate front to rear. The the RS wheel package on a V6 is staggered and rear wheels are an inch wider than the fronts. It is possible to physically swap them as they will bolt up fine, but drive-ability would suffer, not to mention it would look really funny. What many people do is to buy a second set of rear wheels and put them on the front and run a square set up with 275s front and rear. Then you would be able to rotate the tires normally, provided you don't run a directional tire.

Mch81605, myself and a lot of others have done exactly what PROZ11 mentioned, and that's to get another pair of REAR wheels and tires (275's) then from now on you can rotate you tires to even out the wear on them.....AND you will get the added bonus of better handling.

I will add that assuming you don't have abnormal wear, the only benefit to being able to rotate tires is to ensure they all wear out at the same time (ie: you buy tires in a set of 4). Not rotating, simply means you will be buying tires in pairs.
