Basically a ricey tuner car with Fast & Furious aesthetics that he licensed the "IROC-Z" badge for and is selling for well over $100k each.

Perhaps it’s the 6th gen Z/28 since they won’t make a Z/28 for 6th gens?

Looks like 6LE is tanking anyway so this car is vaporware.

I realize different generations and different geographic locations may feel different about some cars..
but being a young man in the 80's in MN...'87-'88 IROC-Z's were the $hit. We were just leaving the carb days and they were affordable, fun, cool name, #racecar..lol.. honestly, if GM put an IROC-Z on the bumper sticker of the Volt my dumb ass would probalby be standing in line waiting for the dealiership to open so I can buy one.. then dropping threads on y'all saying how much better my car is than yours. I know, it's pathetic. Just something about that name IROC-Z.

Back then, the IROC series was actually popular. I remember watching some races as a kid and always wanting one. Didn't get my first one until '95 and it was an '88. Still have the MA registration certificate for it under my keyboard. For me, a rebirth of the IROC-Z would be rubbish. There's no race series so why bother? It's gimmicky and something tells me it wouldn't hold the heritage, much like this 6LE nonsense didn't. The closest representation I could think of is something like a street-ready version of the GT4-R car. Beyond that, just slapping the badge on one wouldn't do it for me.

My IROC experience was what gpskinzhut just posted. I liked the car and it turned heads back then. The styling worked with the stickers to me. The 1992 Z28 non-sticker styling was good too.
$100,000 for that? Not me. Imagine what you could do buying a 3k mile ZL1 for $34,000 and putting another $5-15,000 into it. |

That's the only element I'm curious about. Think it's a 10k component in of itself.

I call on this one and here's why:
First of all, V10? Not a single GM production vehicle engine is currently a V10 and no leaks have made it out for a supposed V10 powerplant. Second, IROC is a failed racing league that GM doesn't own the naming rights to. Third and probably the most obvious, the front end doesn't look Dodge enough to be a 2019 Camaro. I mean what's that bowtie doing up in the grill like that?
