This is very true. No one starts a thread saying "just another problem free day of Camaroing" me included. Most threads are about mods or problems. Look at the gen 6 issues forum. Damn!! That would scare anyone into buying a Hyundai!! That forum made me think my original plan of purchasing a 2014-2015 1le was the much safer way to go. So far I love my 1le. Lol
Truth is my Brother has a highly built 2017 zl1 that he pounds the hell out of and it just keeps rocketing down the road. Hopefully you all good now and have many years of problem free fun!! |

I'm sure he did buy it used he said he only bought it last year or so.... Be interesting to know what history the car had besides low miles. Things like maintenance history or whatever.
At the least hopefully it has all new fluids in it like coolant etc. due to the year it went into service even though the miles are very low. |

2010 2SS with 53k miles, no heater core problems. Fill the coolant from the top radiator hose and you should be able to get the air out.

I bought mine used [one owner before] 11k on the clock and it had obviously been garaged and not seen any bad weather, it was like brand new underneath.
The first thing was noisy tappets so heads off, all new tappets, gaskets etc seems to be a common thing. Then the starter motor needed replacing, wouldn't start after a long journey until it cooled down. The heater matrix, smelt it for a while then decided replacement was needed. Finally [apart from other stupid niggles] the oil cooler assembly started with the odd drip of oil and anti-freeze, oil cooler deleted. And of course a battery. Do I like the car , yes, do I like the thought that went in to some of it? Not at all. |

I bought an 2005 C6 Corvette that was built in August of 2004 . That was an early car and I had too many electrical problems. I swore I wouldn't buy another early production car, that why I didn't order my 2010 till August of 2009.

My early '10 SS ( built 8/4/09 ) now has 52,000 miles and has had no problems. Oh ya, A tail lamp
bulb cost me $3.50 a couple of years ago. Believe it or not, it's also mostly chip free after 9 years. No complaints.

I must admit its very rare you go to any car forum and find someone shouting that the car has been perfect.
Forums are where people come mainly for when they do get a problem or they want advice. The one thread that runs through all this is that the 2010 on Camaro seems to suffer from a lot of the same problems, the heater core especially. |
