I have no clue on what I'm looking at price wise for a fix but I imagine I could have done a lot worse

Yeah, you could be looking at replacing the whole top end right now...

Definitely look into beefing up the valve train. Glad to hear that’s the only part that’s damaged.

could look for a good used set of heads and sell yours for rebuilding...I would replace the valve springs with either PAC or PSI...find some used after market 7.4 P/R's off of ebay for cheap...and bronze bushing for the rocker arms..


some peeps use LS9 head gaskets(stronger) if F/I or N2O is in your future..and ARP head bolts(or studs)..


and while the heads are off if the pistons have any rough or high spots from the valve hitting make sure to buff and smooth them out...don't want any hot spots causin pre-detonation!
