My Bee....
So I was looking for a new vehicle, but knew I couldnt afford one just yet. The economy wasnt doing so good, I had some issues going on..... Yup I knew all I could do was drool at the dealership.
Then my luck changed, or so I thought. Came into a little money and thought I will pay the bills and get my car. Well, I talked to a dealership and absolutely loved this blue camaro.... I was hooked. Worked a deal and had 2/3rds of the car in cash. They pulled the deal. Came back to me and said the numbers they had were wrong and had to have finance look it over and correct it. Hmmm yea sure guys I am a dumbass that doesnt know anything..... WRONG... They came back with $3000 over MSRP but also had all kinds of crap added. In the end I wasnt even near half the cost of the car. Yes I walked away... laughing at them. The owner of the dealership called me a month later wanting to do the same deal and he could gurantee the delivery and some add ons. I said hell no..... Disappointed I quit looking thinking I would have to hold my money till I could do all in full and avoid the bullshit. So several months went by, I was out of work for recovery so I decided we should go take a drive with the family. Just a cruise around. While out we drove by the "Bee". I didnt stom figured if it was still there and they were open at the time we would look. Later came............ I looked....... I loved her. I talked to a sales man (who quit the next day) so on to sales man two. He is acting dumb so I go to walk away and the owner (Its a small town dealership but the guy own several) calls me by name. Turns out we went to school together. His dad gave him this store and if he showed progress well you know how it goes. Anyways we talked, he agreed to an awesome deal for the car. So good that within a week I had sold 6 other of his cars. (No I wasnt working there just was able to get things worked out for friends.) After all that I drove my 2010 1LT/RS Bumblebee home. I did get shit talked for the fact it was an automatic and a v6. Well the wife doesnt drive stick (and she wasnt learning on my camaro!!) But this started the adventure. And the cool thing is I recieved the car a few days before my bithday, Aug 2010. I originally had a deal with my wife that whatever vehicle we buy, you dont spend any money for accessories for 1 yr. I hated this deal but was keeping to it. Then I found my sawtooth spoiler and figured WTH..... When she came home from work I was in the dog house but the car looked nice. Two weeks later I put a flowmaster exhuast on it. Back to the dog house.... In March is was my wifes turn to pamper (I wanted out of the dog house) so I took her on a mini vacation. We took the camaro and trolled around Austin visiting sites and relaxing. While there I was asked (Actually had a note taped to my car begging me to attend.) I said ok sure it to help a charity so I would do it. Talked it over with the wife and was told I had a $2500 budget and one month. Sweet.... And hell began to freeze...... I joined this site shortly there after and followed the DIY's religously... We fast forward and now the car show is sunday. But as you can see in the photos, I have done alot to change it. Hope you like the look now. UPDATE 2011/03/27: Car show went well. I lost to a Ford GT. (Not mustang the actual GT racer!) But I was still well liked and everyone had questions. Really need to get some work done on the engine, some mods and paint.... But soon. I do appreciate any thoughts, likes or dislikes and ideas. Just remember I am an amatuer on a budget Last edited by MahoneyII; 03-29-2011 at 01:57 AM. |

Car looks great. I hope the owner took off a few thousand after you sold all those cars for him. Also, what DIY did you use for your dash ABL? It looks really good, and I've been toying with the idea of doing mine.

I used the EL wire for my dash. Its bright but not too bright. It makes the interior stand out a lot. I am trying to figure out if I want to add some to the rear passenger area to accent it some too.

Update 2011/06/01:
Well a few weeks ago had some one try and steal my wheels so I will be having to fix them. Lesson learned though because the car is now hidden at night... The ended up trying to break into the passenger door also, I got lucky and they could have done a lot of damage. I have a few upcoming mods that will be getting done: 1. Flat black body kit 2. Rear sports trailing arms (Lakewood) 3. Sports springs and sway bars (front and rear) (Eibach) 4. New full body rally stripes (Flat black) 5. Engine cover and hood mural. Will post more pics as I finish and install it all. |
