L99 with Borla S-Type Catback

I recently bought the Borla S-Type catback system and all I can say is wow. It sounds amazing but doesnt drone all that much, just sometimes in third gear or so. But I have a question.

About two days after I got it installed, I began to notice a weird sound. When I'm cruising without any real throttle the system is quiet, but as soon as I give it a little gas, it sounds like almost like a bubble is coming out of the back of the car. The note of the exhaust changes suddenly, not in a bad way but noticibly. It goes from a quieter noise to the regular aggressive noise it should sound like.

Is this the engine switching from 4 to 8 cylinders or something else? I'm confused.

It is your AFM (active fuel management) kicking in and out. I have the same exhaust on my L99 and I love it but the AFM got on my nerves. I ended up getting rid of the AFM with my custom tune.

Yea its the AFM. no real easy way to get rid of it unless you get a custom tune. or use a handheld tune.

Yeah thats what I figured. Pretty annoying! I'm planning on getting a tune with my LTs anyway so I'll wait it out. Thanks a lot guys.

Would you rather have kooks full exhaust or obx headers and factory exhaust?

Answered my own question...sounds amazing as an axle back. I'm sure the cat back adds some actual hp though.
