Concerning ZL1 Logo on The Passenger Side Carbon Flash Applique

I figured that this would be the logical place to ask this question..

I just literally ordered a new, passenger side, ZL1 carbon flash applique, from a vendor on ebay. I automatically assumed that the ZL1 emblem on the applique/dash is no different than all of the other emblems, and can thus be removed. My ride is NOT a ZL1, so the ZL1 logo must go. It just occurred to me, "what IF the emblem is under the clear coat" ......

My question is, is it?????!!!!!

If it is, it might not be too late to cancel that order.....

If I remember on my zl, the logo on the dash is under a clear coat or something. .I ran my fingers over it, and its smooth

Yep. The ZL1 logo is on the backside of the clear plastic - can't be (easily) removed.

The early 2012 zl1 had a foil sticker there that snapped in half first time you wiped it with microfiber. All now come with the updated piece which has it embeddded under the clear. All 12s with the foil sticker can be upgraded for free through your dealer. My question is why did you order another if your car is not a zl1 and you dont want it there?

then the early 2013 had a slightly better sticker on top then sometime between end of june beginning of august the 2013s went to the emblem being under the clear. mine was built end of june had better sticker on top my dads was built around 8th of august has sticker under clear

Find someone with the old 2012 one and swap for it. I cant becasuse mine was already replaced. Had to turn the old one in when the new one came in.

I'm personalizing my interior, working on a theme, so all of the Carbon Grey trim, like the speedo/tach bezel, steering bezel, center console, grey SS door panels, are all out. The smaller aforementioned trim pieces are being repainted, as for the dash appliqués, and door panels(which I sold already), are being replaced with the carbon flash ZL1 ones.

Swapping sounds like a good idea!

Emblem Pros might be able conjure up something I'm sure, and get away with being able to cover that ZL1 logo with an other (larger) emblem.

Yeah, sounds too risky, I foresee butcher scenes trying to remove it.

..If this is true, then there is still a good chance that the one I bought will have it sticker style over the top! I guess I'll know when it arrives in the mail early next week .
