Finished mine today. First time is a learning experience. Second time would be a piece of cake. Nothing really hard, just time and careful reading.

Did you do this.

Here are 3 pics first is the cover to the passenger side after removing the glove box, You see a cove that hides the XM and extra battery, then you see the 2 components and how to remove them, lat pic is the tray that holds them and it needs to be removed so you can get to the air bag and its 2 13mm bolts and the connectors.

A lot of small details that I can help with

2 hour out
1 hour cut dash
2 hour in

this should be a good goal for an experienced wrench

thats exactly how i do it but dont forget to add for clean up time no fingerprints on the windshield lol lol

When Ofer and I did his car we were checking with the book, the posts on Camaro 5, and calling the guys in New Jersey who were just a step or two ahead of us at each step. We had started at 9:30 AM AZ. time and finished as the sun was setting. The next day when we did my car we had the experience of having done one car already. The only difference in our cars was that mine is an automatic and Ofer's is a manual. On both cars everything was put back into place and there were no missing or extra parts. The results speak for themself. I Love driving my Camaro and seeing the information the HUD provides, and when I drive the Magnum or 87 Camaro, I miss seeing the info on the windshield.

It's great to see things are working out for most of the people installing this hud. I'm most impressed the guys that are taking this on with limited time working on vehicles and getting thru it. I think I can speak for the ones that have done it, as you already know it looks worse then it is. And the second time around would be a breeze compared to the first time. The mechanics I know most of them don't like this kind of work. Patience goes along way with this paticualar job. Can't be a Bull in a china shop! Ofer your the man for spearheading this whole thing! Pat yourself on the back guys! Job well done.

Harness arrived in the mail from today, thanks Ofer! Now all I'm missing is the HUD unit itself and I'm ready to go. The initial plan was to hold off on ordering the HUD for a while but I'm tempted to get it now and do the install this winter while the car is parked and I have multiple days to work on it.

I did a volt steering column yesterday and this worked great. The picture is from there website I thought the device would be more in the way of trying to work under the dash, but it wasn't. I thought I would pass it along. It looks easy enough to make yourself. here's the website dashsurfer.com

Received my harness in the mail today too, thank you Ofer!.

Most likely next month I'll order the HUD ass'y. Then to find a place indoors to do the install.

This was the one item I was wanting from the 2011, and thanks to eveyones hard work, Now it's possible for all of us.

Thanks Again

Well after I finished yesterday I had a "Service Airbag" on the DIC. No big deal I thought, I'll recheck the connections today. So today I unplug and replug the passengers side connection and removed the steering wheel one and reseated those 2. Still have the "Service Airbag". I connected 2 different readers up to the OBDII connection but neither had a code.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...
