Haha don't think anyone can complain i remember plenty of total parking every night. I did remember going wtf is this when i arrived and saw this huge swath reserved for the HTown crew. Then i remembered a lot of them were at the road course and thought damn thats a good idea.

According to Chevrolet and the Corvette Museum, who now run the tours, the tours stopped in June of 2017 for a period of 18 months. That would be thru the end of 2018.

We are bringing our orange cones and there are a lot that block off sections while some people are gone. Some of this is so Martha and her Mini Van don't park in the middle of some nice Camaros which we saw happen last year before the Wedding. (Which we all should have crashed, the wedding I mean not the Mini Van).

For those of us who are not using a cone, the cones can be pretty frustrating when there are no open spots available and 1/3 of the parking spaces have cones in them.

That happened to me a couple times last year, and I ended up having to park across the street.

I saw a couple guys get into a heated argument when a guy returned to find another guy who had moved is cone and parked in his spot.

I understand the intent of the cones, but I wanted to point out that not everybody is in favor of them.

They are controversial. A little dose of courtesy and respect is needed with this topic!

I agree. I understand wanting to park together as a club, or a couple friends, and I can respect that. But you don't own that parking lot either. When you put a cone out, to me, that's like "I want to park here if I can, but if there are no spots and I'm not here...this cone is moving".

Yeah we need to put some general guidelines around this one.

Maybe a time limit or a limit on number of cones you can put out like 2 or 3. The hotel may also have issue because there is another small block of folks staying there too. I guess if your cone gets picked up or moved you shouldn't be upset about it.

A best practice and maybe this is this rule - There must be someone there watching your cone (saving the spot for you) so if someone moves it and your watcher doesn't see then so be it.

I know BeckyD saved me with a cone as I was always the last to leave the track. If you take off to make a beer run it's nice to drop a cone for your return too.

exactly. be considerate to others and all that is going on. A little respect goes a long way.

Putting a cone out at 7am, then going to breakfast, then the fest, out to eat, shopping and expecting it to be there at 10pm is a little much. Yes, seen this happen a few times.

Yeah, that was a bit frustrating when I am staying at the host. I come back to park and orange cones everywhere. No place to park — and I was staying there. Needless to say, I had to move some — no one out there monitoring.

My hope is folks understand if we’re staying there, we will need a place to park. Parking across the street is not a viable option for those of us who paid to stay at the host..

Please keep that in mind...
