Camaro Post on Instagram

The granddaughter sent me this tonight. She posted this with pics of the car, on her Instagram account today. (She has my white SS for a few weeks.):
------------------------------

My grandpa has owned this 2013 SS RS Camaro for about 4 years now. He's been teaching me how to drive since I was able to sit on his lap and steer♡ He taught me to drive a manual for the first time around 2015 in one of his old Mustangs.

Both him and I were finally comfortable enough to let me drive his (2015) Commemorative Edition 6 speed vert through Vegas traffic and to Mesquite and back last weekend. This car (2013) however has been the one I've driven the most and been the most comfortable in for YEARS.

He taught me how to do the *fun stuff* in it safely LOL We will be taking it on it's last and final run in May of this year for our week long road trip through Montana, Utah, Wyoming and South Dakota, it will have around 116-118k miles down on it when we come back.

ANYWAYS he has entrusted me with the keys for about a month or so. He doesn't let anyone but me and my parents drive his cars, so that's saying something🙏🤍

Being able to actually drive it on my own without having another person besides me is quite liberating but lonely sometimes, I'm used to him being in the passenger seat giving me directions a bit late sometimes lmfaoooo

Be expecting lots of photos though LOL this is going to be one hell of a ride♡
-----------------------------

Dang, that's going to be such a fun trip!

My grandbaby is 16 and such a fun person to be around. After reading this, I could die tomorrow knowing that I did OK after all.

That right there is why you pass on the legacy of your cars and your car heritage to your kids. Must have been a tear jerking proud Grandpa moment right there.

The drive through Montana, Utah, Wyoming and South Dakota sounds amazing. Please be careful of the deer they really do a number on vehicles.

That would be a hard sell. Maybe some sort of a gift....might be a bit too early for a graduation present!

You guys are right of course! I don't think there can be any other way. I'll be talking to my daughter and go from there. The car is paid off so that wouldn't be an issue. With my daughter permitting, maybe see about gifting it when we get back from our trip...I like the idea of using it as a grad gift but that's too far away...grin...thanks guys!

I did much of that same trip with my grandparents when I was 15. We'll be mining sapphires at Gem Mountain in Montana, then hitting Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, the Badlands, I'm hoping our stay in Cody will include their great little Rodeo there and they also have a great Old West museum, Bryce Canyon and then final stop, Zion National Park before back here at home.

Great job brother. She’s a great kid and you’ll make her so happy with the car, plus it stays in the family.

I was just in Cody on my honeymoon. Stayed just outside of Buffalo Bill state park which is Wapiti. The Museum is pretty cool. It was only open on the weekend. The guns of the west is ridiculous how many guns are there. Very well put together. I believe the Rodeo opens in May so hopefully its open when you go. Yellowstone and Big Horn Forest were closed.

Overall that trip sounds amazing. Like I said, be careful of the deer. I hit one in a Suburban and it just looked at me like wth. Did a number on the Suburban, but was still drivable.
