I like how you gm people keep saying" keep us informed on what YOU are going to do " or " informed on your progress ". I think the better phrase would be "we will keep you informed on our progress to make your situation right ".

Disclaimer IMHO:
"LOOOL .. the solution is so freaking simple... Stop using the AY6 and start using a T56 even if its a 5 spd at least for those of us that have issues which according to this thread is like 60%.

IMHO Shifting at 3500 rpm will destroy the Aisin!!! I wonder if anyone at GM gets the point the we did not buy Aveos!!!

Here is my progress:
I have a crapparo (1LT) that is rotting my driveway until I manage to sell the piece of .. well you get the point. GM turned me into a redneck as I have a car that is literally rotting on my driveway.

Disclaimer:
If you own a 1LT please make sure you know your rights. There is a limited amount of time since you have issues till you can no longer sue.. This varies state to state but its between 1 to 3 years."

I have'nt taken first gear past 5500 rpm's. have nver redlined this car ever. I think they are aware (service director even ackowledged) that the synchro's are crap but they want to label it as a "wear and tear" item. See how they pick a part your 5 year 100k powertrain **cough** warranty.....
Dude go back 20 pages I tried to warn you.. I am so sorry you got into the same situation i did.

IHMO:

Its part of the game plan as there is a statue of limitation until ppl can no longer sue and that is fast aproaching.

not sure what my Camaro had but its definitely gone now.
It sux how long this thread has been going w/ no signs of resolution, page 16 i decided to get rid of my Camaro. This weak link transmission killed my love for my old Camaro.
I honestly wish I did the same thing... I wonder why I did not buy that Challenger?

I know completely how it works they pro-long the whole situation till you either forget or just get tired of dealing with it. They already got our business so they dont care anymore, though they will act like they give a shit they dont. I think the key here is to find a dealer that cares(which is near impossible) and go back repeadly to get new trannys and clutches until GM gets tired of paying and then start your Lemon Law Process corresponding to your state. The customer service can only do so much they are more of a call if you want to let off some steam and we will try and calm you down hotline. GM's lawyers department will do anything to try and not declare the car as a lemon they will even shove out a little dough to try and keep you quiete.

Why doesn't GM make some progress and get rid of this POS Japanese transmission?

you guys obviously know there is a huge problem out there, two model years doing the same thing?.... bring the rev limiter down to say 4.5krpm so this car makes way less 300hp and see how many sales you get. at least your trans SHOULD hold up then.
I'm still pissed i had to get rid of mine, but i only lost 2.5k on trading it in so whatever, at least i have something reliable now.

I bet there are some guys on here that wish they can receive a government bailout to get out of this car and from the payments they signed up for. But i guess you can only take tax payer money if your a huge corporation with suck-ass customer service.

now they will come in here and copy and paste "I completely understand your frustration with the situation with your 20xx Chevrolet Camaro. So we can better understanding of your situation, what type of diagnosis has the dealership provided you?" or something to this nature. I am sure they have a word document with all the statements already written.

I just got in on Tuesday and picked up the car yesterday after being on vacation for a week. I'm happy to report that the dealer appears to have fixed the clutch. It feels great, as good as it was the day I took the car home. I notice a slight clicking noise now when I press the pedal to the floor, but it's a small price to pay for a clutch that engages and disengages at the same place every time, and doesn't stick to the floor in the mornings. I can only hope this is what also caused my transmission grinding issues, being that it felt like the clutch wasn't disengaging all the way. The dealer told me at first that there wasn't anything wrong, but a chat with the service manager and a call on their part to GM tech support led them to replace the clutch master cylinder and all appears to be well. Hats off to Classic for taking care of it, even if it took 2 or 3 times to find the problem! On the downside, they left it out in the hail with all their other cars Wednesday when we got hit with the baseball size stuff, but thank goodness Grapevine only got the little stuff and I don't have any baseball size dents!

Just curious ...

Being a former AY6 owner, with over 1,100 posts is there any reason why this thread isn't a sticky?

Does anyone know if the pulled trans can be bought from gm? Would be interested in pulling it apart and seeing if theres any parts we could have machined to solve this issue.
