No, I am talking about the caulking that is all over the car. Open the hood and look at the lip where the skin joins the inner skeleton. Every join is caulked to prevent corrosion.

so how much weight would the A/C only option add? Summers can be brutal, you know. And why bother having rear seats, if racing is its only intention(look @ Boss SECA)?

It's 60 pounds on the older cars.

I don't think there is a rear seat in the Z/28. Not that there really is one in any of theses cars. LOL!!

The current Alpha cars (ATS and new CTS) are coming in under 3500 pounds.

Keep in mind that in addition to weight, AC also has a belt driven compressor that eats HP... There's nothing "performance" about AC... I wish you could delete it on the SS/1LE/ZL1 as well. The back seat was lightened, but retained... Probably because the vette is To be Chevy's only 2 seater. Ford doesn't have to worry about that since the Mustang is all they've got.

I'm blown away that Chevy would actually build this car...If you think they will only be seen at the track and not on the street, I wouldn't bet on it...lol...
I'm glad it is based on the concept of the original z/28...Chevy and Camaro have not thrown in the towel by abandoning the roots and history of this car. I am pleasantly surprised.
I hope it doesn't get nit-picked by the man-purse, creature-comfort fanatics who don't appreciate what Chevy has offered with the Z-28... It could have very easily been a watered-down run of the mill car with a rip-off use of an iconic nameplate, just to pacify the masses...But instead, they did it right...Don't like it, get something else...just leave this one alone..

After hearing that, looks like I won't be owning a Z/28 just isn't practical. My Z/28 would have to go to trips to the Grocery store, Target, hell even Texas Roadhouse. Good luck for those guys that have 100* weather with no A/C.

I'll wait until GM releases a Z/28 like the 4th Gen which was a DD.

I respect your wishes but I hope GM never goes there again with this car.

go back and read the history of WHY the Z28 was introduced in the first place.

Don't 'guess' and don't try to 'interpret' - because some of us were actually around back then! (I didn't mean that as a shot -- but.......)

Tidbit: the 1967 Z28 didn't have Z28 anywhere on the car - it was simply an option code (RPO) that essentially said: "This is the car we're building to compete in SCCA's Trans Am racing series. All others beware!" It was not meant to be a daily driver - and this new Z/28 is not meant to be a daily driver. it will "separate the men from the boys" so to speak....... If you want comfort -- this is not the car for you.....

We stayed true to the original intent. Want a stereo radio? Go buy a ZL1 or a
1LE or an SS and make mods.

The Z/28 is essentially a race car.

Sorry that some of you don't like that.....but we have to make hard decisions and I stand behind this Z/28 'til the cows come home.

I don't like to be this abrupt - but I'm operating on very little sleep - it's been a long week -- and frankly my patience is running a bit thin with people who don't understand what a Z/28 really is meant to be........

(....oh - and for those of you who are nay-sayers? I wish you could have heard the remarks about the new Z/28 - people at the unveil were blown away.......)
Absolutely!! This one was hit outside of the park. Who listens to the stereo in a car like this anyways?
