Or you get a car like the 2010 Camaro that wins JD Power "Most Reliable Sports Car"...

You have to remember that JD Powers is first and foremost in the biz of marketing themselves to car companies and to us, the huddled grey masses.
Problem with JD Powers and others, for that matter, let's throw CarMax into the mix, the only data they have is data provided. So if you car rolled into a lake at a family gathering and your nice family towed it out, dried it out, and fixed it by yourselves and never reported it, then none of the above would know. To finish this out, if JD Powers does get your input, you could complain what a pc. of crap the car is as the electrical system keeps shorting out, knowing full well that it was submerged in a lake. Other than that, the survey results are flawless. Power on and peace out. |

Both cars are very different animals. The ZL1 is going to have more creature comforts than the Corvette. To get similar performance out of a 2013 Corvette you would have to get at least a Grand Sport, and even then I believe the magnetic suspension is another option. The price on the Corvette jumps very quickly with options but the pricing should go down as the new C7 had been revealed.
As for the Stingray, the base price will most likely be higher. Since it is new, demand will be higher, and you can almost guarantee dealership markups. And at the end of the day, the ZL1 will be a more rare car in the long term. I would suggest trying both out and seeing which fits you better.

Trust me you do not want a first year model of any car. If you want the new vette wait till year two or enjoy a whole new set of problems. This is coming from someone who builds cars for a living.
