Pre Packaged Bankruptcy
So apparently, Congress has gone to a few financial experts to get advice on the viability of a pre-arranged Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Ford and GM are starting to warm up to this approach. GM's biggest worry is the belief that nobody will buy from a bankrupt company.
My question is to the 300+ board members who have already put money down on a Camaro..... Would you cancel your purchase if GM goes pre-arranged chapter 11? I sure as heck wouldn't. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...1v8&refer=home

Not me!
The company will need to tell me I cannot have it because they cannot build it. I know they will get there. The more cancelled the quicker mine will get here! For all you waivering...Cancel now to bump mine up in the line! Look for the plate "CIYA LTR", and that will be me blowing on by ya...

That would be like dropping your friend off in the worst part of Detroit, and telling him good luck.

My order would stay as is. I would not cancel. Chrysler has already proven that an automotive manufacturing company could go bankrupt and come out of it intact and stronger.

Does this mean they won't get the loan? Or is this just chatter

1. ABSOLUTELY! If I had an existing order, I would NOT cancel. And, I will eagely anticipate buying a Camaro in the future. GM will pull through.
2. Congress. What a bunch of^&%$*'s. They need to seek experts who can explain how some of these *&^%'s get into Congress in the first place. 3. GM. If the general public would wake up and see the products being offered today, this "stigma" that American cars aren't of a very good quality and dependability, would prove false. I've got my fingers crossed that the Big 3 will pull through this. |

Come to think of it, you jogged my memory. When Chrysler did it, they offered everyone a 7 year, 70,000 mile warranty after they went under. That would sit good with me and my Camaro.

I believe it may be a condition of getting the loan.

No canceling for me. It would most likely push all of our orders back considerably as more constraints come into play as some of their suppliers balk. My only concern would be, where does GM go to get replacement vendors and are those parts as good as the original supplier?
