The m6 bog is an inherent factory programmed tune/flaw. No aftermarket tuner has been able to definitively crack it. It also has nothing to do with most people's skill set with a clutch. I've tested my 2-step between 2500-3700 and without fail, the rpms fall to around 500-700, and then picks back up. The only time this doesn't happen this horrifically is when there's a little bit of tire spin outta the gate, but even so the rpms still drop by varying amounts. So it's a catch 22 as far as 60fts go with the m6. It's gonna suck one way or another. With 934hp at the tires, I still can't get a 60ft under 1.7 seconds. I also haven't seen anyone with m6 consistently launching hard outta the gate.

I think it's in the factory ecm tuning which no one can get around, and remember which most forget to mention, this car is drive by wire which does not give you the same feeling as a drive by cable.
I wish we could go back to those days, we felt more confident and connected to the cars !

^^Yes!

I went on a rant about the M6 in the ZL1, so bad I traded to a A10!!
I laugh at the M6 guys saying you need to know how to launch it, LOL
MANY MANY MANY times I asked and posted, SHOW ME THE VIDEO PROOF!!
Crickets!! Around town the launch is PERFECT!! Hard racing launch you LOST!!

If I'm not mistaken though, some have said that you can have a little bit of improvement with the bog when you add an aftermarket/ported throttle body. Is this not true? I had actually debated getting one as my next mod.

How many stock manuals can beat this (on factory Goodyears)? *crickets*

Thanks for all the replies. It’s interesting that I asked about “daily driving” and “around town,” and many of the replies talked about launch control and tuning. Do you guys have Christmas Trees at the intersections in your towns, instead of Traffic Lights?

That's the great thing about launch control on the A10, though - no special prep, even with stock tires (once warmed up) it's very impressive

In my reply I said its PERFECT around town. If a 5.0 pulls up next to you just turn right. LOL...

My M6 launches just fine around town.
I’ve never came across any issues with mild, medium, or hard launches with my ZLE.
Never tried a full drag strip launch, but have no desire to do so since that’s not what this car was built for.
But have done a few burn outs & etc without issue.
I mean there is an obvious bog vs spin breaking point with heavy launches that is true for any manual car. Too little gas and it will bog, too much it breaks them loose.
And having fat sticky 325’s in the back might make that bog/spin point more tricky to work around than other cars.
But for me having driven mostly manual cars for the past 38 years, my ZL1 takes off normal and as expected.

Just now did a couple impromptu take off clips.
No bog on a good hard take off on street tires.

I luv this car for a daily with the manual. Turn the nannies down if ya want to toss the rear around. Now go get that car in manual because you will FN luv it!

I have no problem losing a race, there is always someone quicker. If I do run an Auto, I would probably have to mention to him that I could run the same if we switched seats, yet odds are they probably couldn’t (because they don’t know how to drive a manual) or wouldn’t because they would need more seat time to improve. Again no problem losing, it’s all fun.
