When to change oil after a track day?

Okay I have sorta a noob question. How often and when do you change your oil after a track day?

Should I wait until the oil life meter says change it, or should I change it right after a track day? And what engine oil should I use for running on the track?

I suppose there might be many opinions on this, but I think it would not hurt to change it "soon" after a track day since the extreme engine use would justify changing it sooner?

I was a track junkie for a few years and I would change oil BEFORE a track day seeing as how I knew I was going to be spinning things a bit quicker than usual, and would change it again before the next track day. My track car had 15K mile oil-change intervals, so I don't think I ever needed to change the oil because of mileage, rather always because I had an event coming up.
