Mrt v2 exhaust ticket

On my way to work today I was pulled over for having illegal tint and exhaust. Had both for over 5 years with out a single problem. The mrt v2 is definitely not super quiet but it’s tough for me to imagine it’s illegal. Tons of cars off the lot come louder. Anyone know if an mrt v2 and a cold air inductions intake on a 2015 camaro LS would be over the 95 decibels allowed?

You can download a DB app or buy a tester relatively cheap so you can check it your self. You could’ve asked them to show you what they read as well.

Is this Orange County NY, California, or Florida? Very curious how they measured this, since proper dB tests should be done under specific conditions. He must have had a golden ear.

Either way, your only option at this point is to fight it or fix and pay. Lame.

He already had a car pulled over, I past by him going 25 driving normal, went down a long hill and at the bottom it was red, I saw him pull up behind me as it turns green and he lit me up 10 seconds later as I was maybe going maybe 25 again. He said he noticed my windows were tinted and followed me and saw my exhaust had black residue and searched my entire car thinking it was heavily modified, I was very easy going popped the hood before he asked and showed him I’m not heavily modded at all and he was being chill but decided he still wanted to write me up

I have no solution to offer, but just out of curiosity, how much is a ticket for exhaust and tint in California?

I used to live in Commiefornia. Got my first "loud exhaust" ticket back in the 70s in my 67 Camaro (highly modified). Luckily, my friend owned a muffler shop. We packed the mufflers with steel wool and welded a screen on the exit pipe to hold it in. After getting the ticket signed off, we cut the tack welds and blew out the steel wool. Got my last "window tint" ticket in the late 90s. I got a prescription from my doctor stating I am photophobic before going to court on the tint ticket.

I am photo phobic too. I'm afraid in any photo I never look as handsome as I am certain that I am.

There are many on here that are law enforcement. Just like every other human on this planet everyone is different. I stopped a ZL1 for flying through an intersection and told him congratulations for beating the 5.0 GT but to remember there is a time and place so never again. He was apologetic and that was that. California seems to be far worse in general as their laws are pretty anti modified to begin with. Tint is either within regulation or not. I personally don’t care, but others do. There are cars (Honda’s) that are so obnoxiously loud I wish someone would pull them over but in 25 years I never have. If you think it was unjust get a lawyer and fight it. Court, not the side of the road is where you make your arguments.

Great advice!
