Hawk break in procedure
I was just going over the break in procedure for the Hawk HPS break pads and was just wondering what exactly does dragging the breaks mean? I'm assuming it means to not hold down the breaks pedal but am unsure. So basically if you guys can give me some advice on how to properly do this I would appreciate it. Bellow I typed up a summary of the steps needed to properly break in the breaks
The steps are to make 6-10 stops from 30-35MPH with moderate pressure followed by 2-3 hard stops from 40-45MPH but do not drag the breaks. Finally wait 15 minuets and your good to go. |

Use them as an on/off switch. Don't gradually slow, don't use your E-Break afterwards either. Let them cool first.

Like others said you want to either be full on or full off. Don't slowlycome to a stop. I had to bed in some stoptech pads today. Did 10 60-15mph stop with brakes at about 80%. You'll notice that the rotors should blue a little. Then drive on the highway to cool it down. Then park without using the ebrake. Repeat one more time for good measure.
