RPM Belt is on -- its more on the tighter side of the tensioner guide -- that is ok! These are better than the green belt (which is an industrial version and meant for long use and are a bit 'harder' rubber -- not necessarily built for racing ;o)...

RPM should be nice, I don't think you were slipping with the green belt though were you?

Interested to see how it holds up, I know it is "stickier" but also curious if it stretches more under load like the standard Gates belt.

Git r tested, inquiring minds want to know.

I didn't use the green belt, used the stock gates one first... that didn't stretch... the rpm one is tighter by 1/2". I'll find out how it does...

I did not have any belt stretch or slip, but I always intended to use the rpm. It was backordered almost 6 weeks...

Having fun just trying things...

Air Dams!

OK did the upper air dam today -- boy, that was ALOT of work.

Now, an air box would mean NO air could escape -- not really practical with this baby, so I did air dams to force air where I needed it to flow.

Here are the templates and pics as I went:

Template example:

-- forming with heat gun:

- test fitting:

-- more test fitting:

-- final check:

Bumper back on -- flowtie re-attached:

Whew, that was a lot of work!

It cooled off too much this evening, so I'll wait until it get's hot to try it out...

While I was at it, updated my tune for the flex fuel sensor DTCs and sensor diagnostics...

Want to know if it fails!

Its only 93° today, but tests show a couple of degrees lower for the same temps! I didn't expect a huge difference as the lower section really has the majority of the cooling, but, each bit helps...

Idle temps are much improved overall (with all the air dams) and on these hot days, temps get no higher than 206° while sitting before the fans kick on. Overall, very happy with the changes.

While driving, coolant temps got down to 179° -- this is @ 93°! So, I'd say that's working. The Trans temps got down to 154° so, not shabby -- IAT2 temps stayed about the same (its the first cooler after both the oil and trans coolers -- so I didn't expect much change).

I could put air dams over the lower HX's, but @ this point, I"ll wait and see if its necessary.

Flex Fuel sensor is working fantastic -- 73% with latest fill-up! FlowTie doing its job, and RPM belt -- no issues there....

Now, waiting on EFI Live so I can take care of the EGR readiness monitor...

Change the fan settings? You can kick them on at a lower temp if you want.

Yep they are set, (thanks for the tip!) high speed kicks on at 206°...

Gets to 192° when they kick on high... 24% @ 192° when the fans start...

On the highway, 179° is pretty low ;o)

Took it out tonight, temps are doing great. The only change I'll make now is 100% distilled and water wetter in the intercooler to see what that does. Temps are just about the same when I was at 590 RWHP, so not bad at all!

Filled up with E85, 75%! Now that the sensor diags and DTCs are enabled, I feel a lot better. Car is running great except that one flat spot from cruise to WOT...

For those curious, this is how I enabled the DTCs and Flex Fuel Sensor Diags in HP Tuners:

DTCs:

Flex Fuel Sensor (Thanks Mark!):

In order to save the file, I had to 'license' the vehicle. In order to 'write' I had to 'license' the controller -- fun!

Now, any time I have changes, I'll be able to save those changes to its own file name...

EFI Live came in yesterday -- but I missed the delivery (needed to be signed) -- came in a day early -- gonna get it now!

Perfect! Got EFI Live setup and took care of my EGR monitor! Next, I'll read that back into HP and save it!
