Has not been a Camaro-rific week.

As title states, so basically three days ago or so I was coming home from work, I start the car - warm it up - put it in reverse, hit the gas and the whole thing shut off. Cold dead limp. All the power went out, key was still int he on position, car still in reverse, but everything went out...

I tried to start again and reverse this time everything went fine. Any one on here ever hear or have this happen to them?? It scared the heck out of me as I thought my car already died...

Today as I am driving the front pressure sensors start going off on me about how the tire pressure is too low and needs to be pumped up - just the 2 front tires - so I naturally pull into a gas station and top the tires off to the required levels and when i turn the car on I find that the pressure sensor now detects the back tires as OVER full...despite me fulling the front tires which where a little saggier than usual. So obviously it somehow fell out of calibration over night...

Anyone know what could cause this second issue randomly?

By the way, I drive a 2011 automatic 1LT. With 37 XXXmiles.

I am hoping it is a loose battery cable. I took a look around the engine bay and found nothing out of the ordinary...I am hoping its not a new battery that would be the shortest lived battery I have ever owned.

Had a old Mazda that ran on the same battery for 15 years, so I kind of want to dismiss the idea of having to buy a new one just yet!

It sounds like a battery issue. I lost the battery in my '10 2SS. It was a sudden thing, with no warning. Then the car started an limped horribly with every sensor going off. Check the battery, it is probably dying.

Oh and it was between the 2.5 and 3 year mark of my car.

When you rotate the tires you have to reset TPMS so it learns the new location of the wheels. Some 2011 owners have been able to reset TPMS with the instructions in the owner's manual and some report that they had to take it to a dealer to reset it. If you did a 4 tire rotation without reseting TPMS then the car will have the tire positions backwards. That could explain why filling the front tires made TPMS think you filled the back tires.

Just to be safe it might be a good idea to check tire pressure the old fashioned way with a guage to make sure all your tire pressures are where you want them and adjust as needed. Then you can deal with TPMS to make sure it is set correctly.

How is the weather in WA???

The reason I ask is because you have to remember with hot and cold, things expand and contract.

You'll notice a lot more in colder weather, your TPMS sensors will go off detecting loss of pressure due to "air shrinkage"

Anyone with TPMS who drives in cold weather will tell you their sensors usually go off more frequently in colder weather.

Every car battery that has died on me has done so within 30 months of installation. In every case, the vehicle was parked in a driveway with underground power lines. My Camaro is now 30 months old. The first sign of a battery-related issue and that sucker is gone.

I thought this exact idea too! It isn't bad here. Temperature dropped 20% over that of summer weather but not enough to shrink the pressure as much as it did.

Thank you everyone for the advice and tips!

Took them all into consideration.

Did a little old fashioned guess and testing this evening and the tpms is back online and fine. Took 4 tries of annoying honking and air releasing haha. I did it by the manual and it seems fine now. I am going to dismiss this as a computer malfunction or whatever.

I had the battery tested and its long and strong and going tough. So I will go with the theory it was a loose connection or wire somewhere since I haven't had a problem yet.

If anything the car feels more responsive now.

Glitches happen I suppose, even in the matrix jk.

It could be any number of things, but I would guess low voltage from either a bad battery or alternator. All kinds of strange things can happen when the various computers are running on low voltage.
