I have found that removing the OE manual transmission fluid and replacing with Royal Purple helped quite a lot. However, when the engine is cold, it can still do it once in a while if I don't make a nice hard shift. Happens on corners sometimes where I may not be downshifting firmly into place. But once she warms up, I've had no problems.

Exactly.
In my opinion, this failure is a consequence of improper use of the gearbox.

First, heat the transmission to operating temperature.
The gearbox has such a low tolerance and it can lubricate the warm, sparse oil.

Second, give a little time to the synchronizing ring to do his job.


Cold transmission shift very bad.
So before it gets warm, I use it like a gearbox without a sync. (double tap on clutch pedal)
