Brake Rotor/Disc Replacement

Just an advisory for anyone removing brake calipers for painting or rotor/disc replacement.

This is for my 2013 Camaro SS, other models same criteria, different part numbers apply.

There is a LOT of discussion on here about re-using caliper mounting bolts, some re torque, some use Loctite, some mark positions, and some replace.

The bottom line is these bolts are one time use only as they are TTY bolts, they SHOULD NOT be re-used period.

They stretch when torqued and then rotated a further 90° and will not return to their original form when removed, so cannot re re-used safely.

For information,

Front Caliper Bolts are GM 11570788
Rear Caliper Bolts are GM 11515781

Front Caliper Hardware Kit (Pins and Spring Clip) ACDelco 18K1971X
Rear Caliper Hardware Kit, (Pins and Spring Clip) ACDelco 18K1970X

If you have read this far, you will be interested enough to look up the torque and angle settings
For the sake of a few quid, brakes need to be done correctly? Stay safe

Well that is pretty handy to know, I can imagine quite a few people have just tightened them back up.
