Nice! but I disagree
"oddly contoured steering wheel" The steering wheel is contoured great! I love it, it fits in my hand perfectly the bottom is perfect for resting your hand on it, it's one of those little touches I love about the Camaro, also keeping the Camaro as close to the concept was not a mistake as he states, it's what most everyone wanted, change it later fine but don't say it is a mistake.

I don't think we'd be here if we did.

Having said that. Pretty excited for what's coming up in GM.

All that Chevy needs to do to earn my business (once again) is release the Alpha Z in a new color that the regular Camaro does not have, or include something in terms of a subtle change in the body of the car....something slight to go along with the major power and I'll grovel at their feet.

Great thread!. The Z28 should be very exciting.

Make sure everyone watch the Indy race. The Camaro will be the pace car again, but ai am sure all of you know that! LOL

I hope everyone has a very safe and happy holiday weekend, and lets all take a moment and think about why we have this holiday.

Thanks

It's been quite awhile since the last Camaro Z28 grumblings, so we're happy to send you off to the long weekend with some exciting Camaro Z28 (and just general Camaro and GM news)!

Motortrend recently had an opportunity to interview GM's Vice President of Global Vehicle Engineering, Karl Stracke. In this interview, two open-secrets were once again confirmed:

  • The return of the Camaro Z28 (said out of earshot of his PR person )
  • The 6th gen Camaro will be on Alpha platform.

This isn't the first time the Z28 has been alluded to of course, with past mentions by Al Oppenheiser, Ed Welburn, and GM Officials @ Carlisle.

The Z28 test mule car was even spotted earlier this year during track testing in THESE PHOTOS.

Here are other recent Camaro Z28 and 6th gen Camaro alpha news/rumors from our homepage:

When I went to the main form page it said that there was 671 people viewing the Z/28 thread. Reading this, I guess.
